Make The Lewis Longhouse roadtrip up to the islands part of your holiday! For us, it used to be Hampshire to the Hebrides... now it's Somerset to Stornoway, Castle Cary to Coll in fact! But, around 700 miles later, we always still end up in the Outer Hebrides 😉.

And, having done it now so many times, with all our own favourite stops and sights along the way, we love to help our guests make their journey too.

Time to enjoy long, sunny days … and it’s a lovely sunny evening !

Today is the summer solstice and the longest day. 😍

Sunrise in the most northerly spot up in Ness was at 4:17 am this morning and sunset tonight will be at 10:37 pm giving us a whopping 18 hours and 20 mins of daylight!

It barely gets dark here at this time of year - plenty of time for outdoor activities!

So, guests arrived about 2pm. Less than an hour later, I receive an email. Oh, something isn't right I wonder, then I smile as the email says...

"Hi Linda,

We’ve not long arrived. The house is truly stunning and all the little touches you’ve included to make our holiday really special are very much appreciated.

We are so excited to explore Lewis and Harris this week and feel very privileged to have such a luxurious base to return to!

Just found this pic of a past trip up to Lewis and we flew right over the The Lewis Longhouse (the arrow helps spot it). Autumn or very early spring colours I think, but just after we'd had the boardwalk through the reeds built and before the roadside stone wall went up.
