Luckily the sun has come out and the snow thawing a bit, however it is likely many of our horses will be spending a bit more time in than normal.

This change in routine can increase the risk of health problems such as colic, coughs and stiffness.

To reduce the risk of these we advise you consider:

☃️ Soaking forage to reduce dust and increase water intake
☃️ Ensurw fresh, clean water is available at all times
☃️ Provide exercise where possible and safe to do so
☃️ Provide additional forage if horses are turned out/live out
☃️ Check under rugs and pick feet out regularly
☃️ Reduce hard feeds and wet/soak feeds to increase water intake

Despite the hard work it brings the snow is also very pretty - let’s enjoy it whilst we can ❄️
