Mick and I pride ourselves on giving a warm Welsh Croeso/Welcome. Our aim is for you to have a wonderful holiday here in Wales. You will be well looked after as all needs can be met from drying soggy clothes to finding information on the internet, booking activities or advising on days out. We hope for happy guests who will want to come again. Contact us if you wish to clarify any details before booking. I can organise flowers, cards, or even a starter pack of food for that first night's stay. We have a wealth of knowledge about the area which we are keen to share should our guests wish to ask us. We are also aware that some people enjoy their privacy and so just knock if you need us!
Cysgod Bach or Caban y Saer (our self catering for 2) are just ideal for your activity break here in Bala. We are just up the road from the National White Water Centre the largest and most well-respected whitewater rafting organisation in the UK. The Tryweryn is a dam released river so water is often flowing when other British rivers are dry and you can ride the rapids at this unique year round whitewater venue. Ideal for touring, walking, cycling and all those outdoor activities to be found locally. An ideal base in the Snowdonia National Park. We are surrounded by footpaths and there are a variety of walks ranging from strenuous to short and scenic. There are fabulous walks around Llyn Tegid (Bala Lake) and the views are spectacular. For something more strenuous what about the Three Peaks circuit – Arenig Fawr, Moel Llyfnant and Arenig Fach or the twin peaks of the Arans? Walking around Bala and Penllyn you can get away from it all. You may not see anyone for hours and there are many places without clear mobile-phone signals (you may be glad to hear) but remember to let someone know where you are going and when you expect to return. I have books and maps my guests can borrow and can even organise for you to have a personal guide if you wish. I can also dry your soggy boots and clothes while you relax in my hot tub. Llyn Tegid is great for watersports and boats can be launched and hired on the foreshore. Try a 4X4 Landrover Experience! Have you heard of Coed y Brenin the premier location for mountain biking? That too is just half an hour away. Then there is Get Wet, high ropes, paintball and outdoor adventure. If you’re feeling in need of a rest we have more leisurely activities locally too. The fishing in the area is first class and Llyn Tegid (Bala Lake) is just a mile away. It’s full of fish – 14 different species including the Gwyniad found only in Llyn Tegid! Many fish are caught here in the lake or on the Dee including perch, roach, pike, brown trout, salmon, grayling and eels. Mick is full of advice and can offer you tailor-made guided fishing in the area. Perhaps you could have a round of golf nearly 1000 feet above sea level. Visit the market town of Bala where you can learn about the local history and have a bite to eat. Follow one of the local area Penllyn Trails in your car or take a trip on our Bala Lake Railway one of the Great Little Trains of Wales Have a meal at one of our great restaurants in the town or one of the local pubs. Sample some chocolates, Aran ice-cream or even visit Stori for ale all made in Bala! In fact maybe you’ll need to stay a few days!
