Peace and Tranquilty Amongst the Magnificant Mountains of Glencoe
Glencoe is a mystical place and the nearby National Trust Visitors Centre explains the history of this unique area. Just a short walk from our holiday cottages will bring you to the site of MacIain’s summer shieling. All that is left now are the foundations but this is where the Chief of the MacDonald’s of Glencoe is said to have met his death in the infamous Massacre of 1692.
The glen is one of Scotlands most inspiring and photographed areas and images are used frequently for promoting Scotland all over the world. It is stunning, with a multitude of changing impressions as the light changes. Our guests have frequently commented to us that they just love to sit both inside and outside the cottage and watch the ever changing vista.
The Scottish scenes from the James Bond movie, 'Skyfall', were filmed locally. If you are looking for a Highland holiday cottage in a special location- you won't find anywhere much more special than here...
