Gary Grattan Media

Gary Grattan Media I consider myself as one of Northern Ireland’s most experienced and respected journalists. I was with the Belfast Telegraph for 21 years.

I have over 30 years’ experience working in the industry in Northern Ireland. I started my career in 1981 as a reporter with the Antrim and Ballymena Guardians. Between 1988 and 1990 I was employed as a reporter in the Carrick and Larne Times. In early 1990 I joined the Belfast Telegraph moving from weekly reporting to daily news coverage. My roles included, senior reporter, specialist corresponde

nt (Education & Security), news editor and video editor. My time with the Belfast Telegraph has stood me in good stead as, in 2012, I set up my own independent media and video company. I have enjoyed the opportunity that this presented in terms of the diversity of the events undertaken and have approached each with the high level of enthusiasm and professionalism to ensure my clients are happy with the outcome. My journalist background has given me the experience of how, when and where to pitch a story. I have a sound understanding of both digital and social media and how this area is impacting the news environment. Having been a journalist for many years I have good solid connections within media and excellent public relations experience. I know how to write a good story and also how to articulate that verbally to deliver a clear message. Working in a daily paper provided an excellent learning environment for the importance of deadlines and also the importance of communication and working as a team both within the organisation and outside to ensure good relations.
