Today reminds me that we are an island in the North Atlantic and that Winter is still with us....It's BALTIC (as we say)

Rough seas along the Causeway Coast today.

Really happy with this one.
Homeward bound.
I love Rathlin Island and what a return journey from there this afternoon, with an impromptu traditional music session from some of the passengers, allowing all on board to forget the stormy seas
Murlough Bay, Co Antrim
Murlough Bay on a crisp Spring afternoon with the Mull of Kintyre clearly visible a mere 12 miles away.
Listening to our world.
Listen to this video with the volume turned up.
Sometimes it is good to take a minute to ourselves and listen to nature.
Is it only me or do others feel there is more wildlife around us during the lockdown?
Maybe we have more time to notice what is going on around us.

Red Bay in the sunshine.
A wee video taken from Agnew's Field outside Cushendall allowing brilliant views of Red Bay, with the remains of Red Bay Castle in the foreground.
With weather like we are having I seriously believe we have scenery to rival anywhere in Europe....Definitely something to bear in mind for the future when everyone is free to travel once again ....

Stormy weather at Ballintoy
A short video from a windswept Ballintoy Harbour this morning...
WINTER IN THE GLENS
Video from this morning's journey into Glenariffe.....Something nice about snow.....if you don't have to drive in it.

A few scenes from a snowy Glenariffe.... And we're expecting some more of the same tomorrow....
SORRY BUT NEITHER A PHOTO NOR A VIDEO
Another group of intrepid visitors from Holland about to start their walk from Orra Beg to Ballycastle.....
To help on their way they got a sample of "the rare oul' stuff" (made by a man who knows a man whose wife bought a dog from a second cousin of my daughters boyfriend.....)
May the road rise to meet you
May the wind always be at your back
And until we meet again
May God hold you in the palm of his hand
But if it be we don't meet again on this earth
May you be half an hour in Heaven
Before Oul' Nick knows you're dead
A few more images from Murlough on a sunny Summer evening.
Murlough Bay on the North Antrim Coast, a few miles East of Ballycastle... Steeped in history and folklore this area was a favourite haunt of the Irish patriot and leader of the Easter Rebellion of 1916, Roger Casement whose family were local landlords.
Also the location of Slavers Bay in Game of Thrones this is a beautiful area for a Sunday evening stroll..... You might just catch a glimpse of a WHITE deer alleged to be seen here on odd occasions......
Glenariffe sunrise....
The frozen waterfalls, the frosty air....
Where would you like to wake up?
Why not book a weekend in the Glens and you could experience it too.....

Out on the hills today with Caomhin from Nine Glens Walking Tours....
Great weather for a long walk but with some snow still on the ground the going was hard at times.
Topics covered included the rise and fall of the Clan Mc Donnell, the Battle of Aurra, the death of ten American airmen on the mountain in 1942 and the "sighting" of Bigfoot in the local forest some years ago. To compound this we met a family of Bigfoot hunters on our way back......
Though a sceptic I can't say anything as no-one can prove to me that faeries are not real!!!!
But that's a story for another day.....

But I hope you get the point... We're looking forward to showing you around the Glens of Antrim.... #NineGlensWalking #craicntour #antrimglenstourism
