Such a beautiful walk over the bridge with absolutely amazing views. Barmouth and the surrounding area never fail to impress even in the cooler months.

The viaduct is open to trains, pedestrians, bicycles and motorcycles. 🥳 The work has completed on time.

Very interesting news re the bridge that spans the estuary. It’s well worth a walk across as the views are amazing.

As the holiday season is almost upon us, a couple of points regarding the on-going bridge renovations -

The bridge is open to pedestrians, cyclists and motorcyclists as per usual and the trains are running as per the timetable up until 2 September 2023.

From 2 Sept - 24 November the bridge will be closed completely. No trains, no pedestrians or any other traffic.

The final part of the restoration involves replacing the two steel spans at the Barmouth end of the bridge. The new spans can be seen now at the Arthog end of the bridge being readied for their installation - an interesting sight.

The bridge will be fixed in place and will not be able to open ever again.

As the bridge is Grade 2 listed, the contractors are having to adhere to the aesthetics of the old bridge as much as possible.

We’ve upgraded the coffee making at the house and now have a Nespresso machine available for guests to use. Who wouldn’t love a fresh coffee while enjoying all wales has to offer.
