Not sure if news of this has spread beyond the local area but NRW (natural resources wales) are seriously considering closing Coed Y Brenin visitors centre and it is not known what will happen to the bike tracks etc. If you have an opinion about this it would be great if you can share to the email address on this poster.(Or Come to the meeting) It would be great to hear from people outside the local community. Have you ever been to the centre? Why did you come? Would you come back? Did you spend money in the local economy (accommodation etc). Why you think it should (or shouldn’t) be saved? Please help us fight to keep this amazing playground for bikes (and runners and walkers)!

Barmouth by night.
The Min-y-Mor was built sometime before 1880.
It was a private school in 1901.
Currently it is a hotel and has a public bar and restaurant open to non-residents. It is also one of only two places in Barmouth that are approved by the County Council for civil ceremonies.
It has a beer garden overlooking the beach, perfect for watching the sunsets over the Llŷn Peninsula.

Barmouth Self Catering for Twelve

Penbryn Mynach is available throughout the year for self catering holidays in Barmouth, including Christmas and New Year. Accommodating 12 in six double bedrooms, pricing varies with discounts available all year for smaller parties. Penbryn Mynach comprises a very spacious sitting room, separate dining room for 12, well equipped kitchen, conservatory, cloakroom/WC. Three double bedrooms with king-size beds, two with en-suites, three twin bedrooms, one with en-suite and one separate main bathroom/WC. Plus cot.

It sits high up overlooking Wern Mynach on the northern edge of town, quiet but close enough to town to walk quickly if you choose. Vicky and Robert bought the pre-existing business in January 2012 and we do our best to continually improve the offering and experience for guests; many of whom are coming to celebrate a special occasion for one or more of the group.

The house has lots of history. Penbryn Mynach was constructed in the 1870s and together with Twr Mynach next door, the whole building was the original Bryn Mynach with one entrance located at the end of Bryn Mynach Road. In more recent times, it formed part of the old Tower House School in Barmouth, an independent school run for thirty years from the mid 1970s by local resident Iorwerth Gruffudd-Jones. It was spectacularly but sympathetically converted into its current use as a holiday let in 2005 and is now very much still its original self yet a surprisingly modern self catering cottage.
