Goronwy Cottage, Barmouth formally two 18th century fishermans’ cottages has been tastefully converted in to a grade 2 listed , 5 bedroom luxury holiday cottage. The cottage is situated a short walk from the main high street. There are about 40 steps up to the cottage bringing you to a large and open veranda from which you can enjoy breath taking views of the Mawdach Estuary, Cader Idris right round to the Llynn Peninsula. This gorgeous grade 2 listed property has many original features, slate flag & stripped pine flooring and Georgian sash windows with wooden shutters.
Spread over 3 floors plus a cellar, the house can sleep up to 9 guests comfortably with extra beds available for a further 3. The cottage has a large and open planned kitchen diner with a six ring , double oven range.
One kingsize bedroom and two doubles have an en-suite bathroom and there is a family bathroom to service the remaining 2/3 bedrooms.
For the additional guests the cottage also offers a luxury futon bed in the attic TV room.
Situated on the rock, there is no parking along side the house but we have two parking permits available for the town carparks. Once at Goronwy you can enjoy a holiday with out a car - it’s actually quite liberating. Barmouth has everything to offer - fine dining to fish and chips, boat trips to fair ground rides, shops, sea and sand.
Outside as well as the veranda there is an enclosed decking area with a large table and BBQ for your al fresco dining.
From behind the cottage you can walk directly in to the mountains. We have storage space for bikes and repair kits too.
We welcome a well behaved dog (£25) as we know how much a dog can enjoy Barmouth beach too.
Prices range from £499 for an off peak 3 night break to £1695 for a full week during peak holiday periods. For the use of the extra beds there is an additional charge of £10 per person per day.
We love staying at Goronwy and we are sure that you will too.
