Happy Christmas from Barmouth, where the mountains meet the sea, and in between, there are walks to be done, on the beach, along the promenade or through the alleys and lanes leading up to Dinas Oleu and spectacular views across the bay. But not today as it is really foggy.

It is a little murky this evening but where else can you see houses in the sky!

Santa and his Elves are very aware that Christmas can be a very difficult time for some people, so when a miracle in the Community happens, it is something that all can enjoy .

That miracle did happen and a real angel appeared and saved a life .

Sammie went out for a run on the beach at Bennar one morning but never returned 😞 His family knew he liked chasing rabbits and 8 hours later once dark, their worst fear was becoming a reality that Sammie had got trapped in a rabbit hole .

Many people from the local community for the next few days went out trying find Sammie but to no avail - during this time we had the most awful storm and no sightings of him.

Sue had been out everyday looking for Sammie spending loads of time at Bennar Beach - on the 5th day, she took her dog Gwen with her and the greatest miracle happened that Gwen found Sammie and he was dug out by Sue - Bennar’s Angel .

The tenacity, care and hope shown by Sue was incredible . Sammie had been trapped for 5 days with no food or water but he was rescued alive and well if not tired scared and hungry.

The Elves are so proud to recognise Sue and Gwen with a hamper each.

Elves Julie Sarah and Josie popped to Rowlands Pharmacy in Barmouth as a surprise.

A hamper for Sue and a doggie one for Gwen - not all angels have wings, sometimes they are right next to you

Christmas shopping in Barmouth. No queues, no stress.

There are plenty of places to park. Some free if you are willing to walk a bit. Take a stroll down Beach Road and the main street and choose from a wide range of gifts from independent sellers. There are shops selling craft supplies, big boys' toys, cards and wrapping paper, toys, hats, clothes, training shoes, shoes, flowers, antiques, garden centre, paintings and prints, jewellers, outdoor clothing, chemist, seaside gifts, charity shops, food and crafts from around the world, pick 'n' mix, wines, pet supplies, adult items, kitchen/household items, perfumes and Barmouth specific drinks from our own micro brewery and distillery. There are plenty of cafes to stop at for a tea break. Finish off the day with a meal at a restaurant or pub.

Most are open at the weekend but check first if you are after a specific shop. If the children get bored, take them to a cafe selling ice cream and to the amusements (the fair is closed but the amusements stay open).
