Buckswell cottage is a 1 bedroom pet friendly cottage (Dog's + Cat's) no charge for any (Over 5 pets welcome please message to discuss)
Located on the north side of Hury reservoir, with south facing with views overlooking Baldersdale (Post code DL12 9UU) Why not come and stay in our comfy cosy cottage fitted out with all the necessities you will ever need with a few modern luxuries thrown in. The

cottage is situated just ten miles from the market town of Barnard Castle overlooking Hury reservoir. There is plenty to do and see with lots of country walks available suitable for a variety of capabilities from keen ramblers to dog walkers or just those out for an afternoon stroll. Alternatively if you are looking for a quieter pace for your stay you can always relax in the garden and soak up the scenery keeping an eye out for all the native wildlife and birds, if you wish to get a little closer Hury reservoir boasts some of the best trout fishing as well as supporting a diverse array of waterfowl and with it being just a short stroll to the shores it makes for a unique experience during your stay. After a fulfilling day exploring and seeing the sights the dales have to offer you know you are returning to a cottage where you can sit and relax in front of a real open fire before tucking up in the king-sized bed ready to see what adventures tomorrow brings

Its perfect for a winter walk as its tarmac/road (no mud)

You may see the odd vehicle on this stretch but they are usualy few and far between.

Fog moving rapidly up the dale

Its been a while since i have completed this walk but i took time out to enjoy a beautiful November morning

After the storm of the weekend Lowforce and Highforce waterfall did not dissapoint. The power on display by mother nature was magnificent.

As you walk the river bank along the pennine way you could see the debri that had been tangled in the tree branches where the river had flowed at its peak

Climbing the path up along the edge of the moor there was moments when away from the river it were so piecefull and scerene.

The Autumn colours were so vivid, all in all not a bad way to spend a morning exploring
