This came up on my TikTok feed. It was taken in the early evening around 6 ish in Ilfracombe looking across the harbour. The lights highlighting the boats and the houses are lovely and it is so calm and peaceful, lovely to have the contrast after the storms of late.

Wandering on the beach yesterday, we went over to the far right-hand side to look at what we thought must have been something left over from the war as it had a cracking view right down the beach and a hole for a gun to stick out!! The rocks are quite interesting down this is as well, just little pointy bits sticking out from the sand in rows!! They make for some lovely rockpools, though.

We went to Instow or where I call doggy central this morning to join the normally loads of people walking on Instow Beach with hounds in tow or running loose. It was a really low tide with lots of sand visible, but there were not that many on the beach today. The Boathouse, where we had breakfast beforehand, was busy though full of dog owners post walk 😍 all in all a lovely experience. Instow is a delightful place to visit all year round. The aftermath of Storm Darragh was still to be seen, sand everywhere, piles of it on the road and in gateways.

A late morning stroll on the beach a couple of Sundays ago, quite chilly and brisk but lovely.Quite a few swimming and the odd surfer but mostly dog walkers.

This was yesterday at Putsborough. The waves were really lovely, and the foam was flying through the air!! The sky was a gorgeous view, but the chill was bracing. Rupert ears were flapping but not at gale force level like they were in the garden the day before!! There was very little sand, and what there was was very wet. The tide was blowing up the beach but not as dramatically as the day before.

This mornings drive past Saunton Sands. Everything looked pretty well back to normal. There was still a bit of swell in the waves. The wind was still blowing, but much less than yesterday. The sky was blue, and the sun was very brightly shining.

A little bit of video, the waves were not massive, but they were coming in for miles, and there were white horses as far as you could see!! Not seen the water blow up the beach like that before! Still really strong winds,we keep losing power and one of our sheds is a little worse for wear and will be lucky to survive the battering it is getting!!

A lovely wandering through the park last weekend, cold but dry for most of the wander. Went into the Tea Rooms for coffee and ended up with the Sunday Roast. The streams and waterfalls were really strong as there has been so much rain. The waterwheel looked lovely but wasn't working that day. Well worth a visit, we used to take the youngest up there regularly when he was little. They have a nice play park. I suppose lol we have swapped those excursions for dog walking!!!

So this photo is from a couple of weekends ago, I went on the train to Exeter with my daughter and boyfriend to the Christmas market, it was busy and there were so many stalls selling lovely things. This is the side of the cathedral, but it looks so pretty with some of the stalls in front.
When you come to North Devon for a holiday, Exeter is a lovely day trip, the train journey itself is through some beautiful countryside.

Sea spray yesterday at Saunton. You couldn't see it close up, but you could feel it, like low cloud rain, it soaked you pretty quick!
Some glorious colours on the beach, 15° and apart from the sea spray, dry!!
Just found this as I was looking for something to post from last weekend. After we had been up to Marine Drive, we drove down to the Esplanade stopping by Barricane and watched the waves for a while. Just as I got out to film it started to get really windy and buffed the car around abit so we left smartish 😁 The huge was were rolling and crashing in with that sea foam stuff flying through the air. I tried to get the noise of the waves crashing, but all I got was the wind, lol
Last one of these for a while 😁 answers in the comments lol
