I took a quick photo the other day of the view from thectraffic lights in Ilfracombe on the way out towards Combe Martin way. It is just such a lovely view, especially on a blue sky day like it was. With just my eyes, I could see Wales in a fair bit of detail that my phone couldn't see. Can anyone think of a better British traffic light view?

I looked at my follower count today and am absolutely blown away with the 8.3k I found. So this funny photo is me saying thank you to you all and reminding you all there will be some lovely North Devon photos and videos coming next year. I have a few things to achieve in 2025 that have been carried over due to too much wind and rain!! So on the cards are boat trips!! Clovelly and drone videos!! This is the entrance to Croyde Beach from the top end where the Ranger Station is and a stunning entrance to the beach on this side. The light on Friday was that lovely misty look where the sea is like a mirror and the blues and greys combine into something beautiful. It wasn't warm though lol, I regretted forgetting my bobblehat!!

We nipped along to Croyde at lunchtime and saw this beauty on the way!! This has been constructed by the Rangers using materials left behind during the summer! They have called it Past Tents, and everything on it was previously some kind of beach tent or shelter, even the chain decorations and the gift box at the side. Everything is something left behind. But they have worked together to produce something lovely, which will hopefully remind everyone to take everything home with them when they come on holiday.

This is Saunton beach, I love everything about this photo, I love the reflection of the clouds in the wet sand, I love the patterns in the sand left by the movement of the waves over it, I love that it feels like it goes off into infinity, I love that it feels like you are the only person on the beach! Off into the distance is where the estuaries meet the open sea. I probably went on a bit there lol. I will end with holidays in North Devon are not just for summer time 😍

On the way to Putsborough, we drive by both Saunton and Croyde beaches. Sunday was a lovely blue sky day and calm after the storm! The waves were pretty and the people on the beach were mostly dog walkers.

My son came home on Friday for a last-minute visit from Uni. It was great to see him. One of the things we did that he loves was nip to Westward Ho! To get some hot doughnuts and coffee after beach wandering. After this weekend, just gone, it all shuts down. As we got the coffee and doughnuts, they were literally dismantling the ice cream stand next to it!!
I love this photo. When the sky reflects on the beach and it is a little misty, it is picture perfect!!

The beach huts are still on the beach at Saunton, probably going to come off any day. The high tide line is full of bits of sticks and seaweed, which I guess is due to the storms we had a bit ago.
I don't remember publishing a Saunton Beach Huts photo this summer, so here it is 😁 The beach this morning was again full of people. There is a Beach Sauna trailer on the beach at the moment. We saw 3 girls come out of it all pink from the heat, making their way down the beach for their cold plunge!! Brrr lol

Forgot to do this yesterday, but happy November!! Can we talk Christmas yet? Too soon? Ok, lol.
November already!! I have gained a few followers this month, so let's do a bit of an intro 😊 I am Jules, and I live in wonderful North Devon. I post the views of places I visit whilst living my life. If there is anywhere you would like to see, let me know, and I will try and get at least a few photos 😊

Not sure if there are any Scooter fans in my audience, but each year, there is a Scooter rally in North Devon. As far as I know, it is held at Woolacombe Bay Holiday Park, like it was this year. Usually, over the weekend, you see big groups of cool sometimes custom scooters going to this place and that. Woolacombe provides entertainment in the evenings and places to stay, but this was the only group I have seen this year, and I had to be very quick getting the shot, lol. Always this weekend in September, as far as I am aware, a Google will confirm that if you want to join in.
There are events going on all the time. In May, there is a VW rally, the Mini's are August bank holiday, and motorbikes seem to be all year around. I have a feeling the Chopper Club also has an annual rally Ilfracombe way!!

Yesterday's trip out mid-morning showed the beach on a sunny February day. You can see the surfers bobbing in the waves and the waves just gently rolling in peacefully. #northdevon #explore #staycation #ukbeach #travelgram #over50women

A quick trip playing hooky from work to drop hubby off at the Docs. It occurred to me how much activity there is around the car park. There is a skatepark, the surf museum, Community Centre, Community Veg Patch! Countryside Centre, Braunton Museum and visitor Centre, London Inn Beer Garden, and this morning Passmores fresh fish van a regular Thursday visitor. You can park here and then wander down Caen Street to look at the little shops. There are lots of lovely beaches, but the little towns are delightful too. This morning was a fresh, sunny blue sky day, so it was extra lovely. Went and got a lovely coffee from Deano's on Caen Street, so that is number 3 in my 25 for 25 🩵 #northdevon #explore #staycation #emptynest #over50 #coastallife #foryoupage

Here is part 2 from yesterday. I thought she had sent one on the beach, but no, just this one, so that is a revisit on the list. This is a delightful little cove that from memory is sheltered and is a popular spot with the local cold water swimmers 😁 The approach is down a good set of steps and a walk that takes you by some lovely harbour views and the skate park. You can park on the Larkstone car park and walk down 😊 Not for the stair phobic or of sensitive knee!! We went up into the Torrs at the weekend. We didn't get where we were expecting to go, but we did stop to get this view, which is stunning and doesn't Capstone look small from here!!! I went closer to the waters edge to get some wavy goodness action for you all, to be caught out by the waves , firstly from the side!! I can not begin to describe how cold it was. It wasn't very deep, but I came out of it, from the knees downwards, soaked in freezing cold water that took my breath away!! and my brand new pink wellies sloshing with it!! Not my best moment lol. The heavy rain stopped about lunchtime today and blue sky appeared, we grabbed the opportunity for a quick dog walk, the wind was really strong and the waves were crashy, the tide was quite high on the beach. By the time we had walked to the waters edge, any cobwebs had been well and truly blown away!!
