Saturday and time to drive to Palm Cove. Shopping for provisions done and although the main highway was closed due to flooding the alternative route was open and traffic moving well . Leaving Cairns was easy then the heavens opened!

Jasper certainly made his presence known and delivered torrential rain,along with strong wind bringing down trees. All the pleasure and tourist boats were forced to leave the marina prior to Jasper arriving and to take refuge in sheltered mangroves . Luckily no loss of power but all furniture around the pool needed to be moved

Australia for the holidays. After time in South Australia it was time to fly to Cairns Far North Queensland .
Arrived in Cairns with Cyclone Jasper due at the weekend. Shangri La Marina was home for a few days with blue skies and sunshine . Jasper makes its entrance and everything changed . Heavy rain,high tides and an ever changing view from the balcony
