Just a piece of advice for the younger generation:

If you can, travel. Explore. Leave your hometown. Go somewhere far away. Live or find a job in another country for a while. Discover how other people live and how different it is from what you know. Different places will bring out different versions of you. Go and see what's out there. The self-discovery that comes from leaving can change your entire life. I know it's scary, I was scared too.. but I did it anyway and you can too. My whole perspective in life changed the moment I stepped out of my comfort zone. And you won't regret it, I promise.

If it works for you, good. If it doesn't, well, at least you tried

Anyone who has got a trip booked to Europe or beyond please check your passport validity. You must check you have enough validity from the date of return, usually 3 to 6 months depending on your destination!

▪️ Any extra months accrued if you have applied for a passport early.... are NO LONGER accepted.
‼️ Your passport is now ONLY valid for 10 years from the date of issue ‼️
▪️ Please allow sufficient time for a passport renewal, delays are expected in the lead up to summer due to significant number of applications.

‼️ New Travel Rules from 4 OCT-THE SUN ‼️

What tests do I need to return to the UK if I am vaccinated?

From October 4, Brits who have had both jabs no longer need a pre-arrival test before entering the UK.

However, you will still need a test on day 2 of being back in the UK.

The new rules will allow this to be a lateral flow test, not a PCR test - a much cheaper option - although this won't be introduced until the end of October.

How much do lateral flow tests cost for vaccinated tourists?

From the end of next month, you will only need a lateral flow test on day two, although you will have to pay for this as the NHS tests are not accepted.

Here are some of the Covid test providers and airlines offering the lateral flow tests, many of which offer next day delivery:
