PLEASE NOTE if you do walk over the sand bar, this can be extremely dangerous so make sure the conditions are perfect, you’re a confident swimmer and it’s low tide. Please remember you have to get back too!!

You'll find a sign located at the beginning of the sand bar so make sure it is switched to "OPEN" or you could get a fine. This Island is accessible by Ferry too.

It's a Great Way to spend a good family day in the water, Swimming and Snorkeling and Exploring the Marine Park. ☀️🏊🏼‍♀️🤿 🐟

Hamelin Bay used to be a small port servicing timber mills of the southwest between Cape Leeuwin and Cape Naturaliste, but turns out the waters were too difficult to navigate (and as such there’s a heap of wrecks off the coast in the area).

Nowadays it’s a tourism hotspot thanks to beautiful beaches with the potential for excellent snorkelling, diving, fishing and of course, intimate moments with stingrays sometimes as big as 2m across!
