😎It's a lovely evening to stroll alongside Chew Valley Lake to Salt and Malt Restaurant for some tasty, gluten-free fish and chips.
Enjoy the panoramic lake views from the picnic area and dam.
🐶 Dogs are permitted in the veranda and picnic areas.
The walk is a little over a mile from your luxury lodge in Chew Valley. Around 25 minutes each way, at a leisurely pace.

😎Looking forwards to August Bank Holiday?
You might enjoy a visit to Wells' Annual Boat Race along (and often in...😀) the Bishop's Palace Moat. It's an entertaining day trip from Chew Valley, 𝗕𝗮𝗻𝗸 𝗛𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝟮𝟲𝘁𝗵. Raising money for local charities, enthusiastic teams compete to stay afloat and paddle along on all manner of floatation devices from 12pm. Wells' many other attractions will be open too, so another reason to take the scenic half-hour drive over the lovely High Mendip countryside.

It's fine weather, so many guests ask about walks direct from our lodge park entrance. There are many scenic and enjoyable walks, you can follow, guides are on the website link below.
🚶 👩‍🦽 Chew Valley Lakeside Recreational Trail, 10 minutes' from
your luxury lodge. Chew Lake Dam and return is 2 miles.
This trail continues to Woodford Lodge making a 4 mile walk.
🚶 Knowle Hill is a delightful walk off the Recreational Trail with
panoramic lake views at its summit. Total 3 miles.
🚶 From Chew Lake Dam, The Chew Magna riverside walk leads
to this pretty village. Nice Inns for lunch. Total 4 miles.
🚶 Burledge Hill rises behind the lodge park. Find the footpath
at the rear of the Red Lion Inn. A few steep steps at its
summit are rewarded with fantastic views. Total 3 miles.

🏞 The Grebe Trail is part of Chew Valley Lake's Recreational Trail.🏞
It starts a short distance from the lodge park entrance, providing an accessible off-road route to wildlife viewing points for walkers and cyclists. This section leads to Chew Dam picnic spot and Salt & Malt restaurant a mile distant. ⛵️ Bristol Harbour Festival: 19-21 July.⛵️
This is a weekend of all things nautical when the harbour comes alive with visiting sailing ships and hundreds of colourful pleasure craft. Harbour tours are provided by the 'home fleet' of ferries. There's non-stop live music at the Millennium Place Amphitheatre, and a feast of food all around the harbour. Probably the largest event in Bristol's calendar, the
Harbour Festival is well worth a visit. It is easily reached from your lodge in Chew Valley where you can enjoy quiet relaxation after your festival trip.

⛱ Where to visit on a hot weekend..?⛱
There's lots to see exploring Bristol Harbour. The circular walk from Cumberland Basin is just about right, with a refreshment stop (or two) along the way. It takes you through Underfall Yard and on to SS Great Britain and M Shed Bristol Museum. There are historic vessels moored here with colourful ferries. There's a choice of eateries including well known floating cafes.
You'll be parked up and enjoying the breeze within 25 mins from your lodge...

🏖 It's nice to be beside the Seaside? 🏖

🏛 Did you know? Bath's delightful Pulteney Bridge is one of only 4 palladium style bridges in the World having shops along their entire spans on both sides? There are some very tempting cafés too. You can also cruise under the bridge on Pulteney Cruisers' up the River Avon to Bathampton. Pulteney Bridge is a short walk from the P+R bus stop on St James' Parade.

🏞 Cheddar Gorge and Caves are now fully re-opened to visitors.🏞
These cliffs, the "top of the gorge" walk, tower 400ft (122 metres) above Cliff Road (the route from Chew Valley Lodges ).
Walking or driving, it's a spectacular descent into Cheddar village, Gough's Caves and cafés. Over the bank-holiday it may be best to park just before the village and walk-down.
