Today Nicola sorted the light boxes and checked the anchor chain, and Jez sanded the boom.
Doing it by hand did take a while, but gave us a chance to check every inch of this important part of the rig. The wood made a singing sound as it was sanded! Amelie Rose’s boom is made of Douglas Fir.
Can you guess how long it is? Clue: Amelie Rose is 44ft on deck.
Like everything on this boat, the boom is big and heavy!
