Hut & Shack prep finished ready for our eighth set of guests watched on by a small invasion of pheasants ! Loving the opportunity to alter the small bits of decor according to the time of the year. The Hut is continually evolving as we learn of ways to make the experience even nicer for our guests .

Beautiful Salcombe. It may be down on the south coast of Devon but it is very reachable for a gorgeous day out from the hut. Stop off at Heron Valley for coffee or brunch on the way, hop on the ferry round to South Sands and visit the gorgeous grounds of National Trust Overbeck. And before heading back north, indulge in a fabulous cream tea at the Harbour Hotel .

So The Hut and Shack are nearly ready to go. Hoping to get the website and Airbnb listings live by the end of the weekend.

Hoorah it looks like the sun has arrived today so focus is turning to the outside area of the hut. Plants are settling in well and Mike has created a wonderful log store at the bottom of a rotten door which we found in the tractor shed along with the original signs and now fills in the gap between the hut and shack. Mission today to build and stain 2 aidorondack chairs and fit the woodburner & pizza oven in the shack for cosy autumn/winter evenings .

It has been ages since I have posted on social media about The Hut but we have been working flat out to get it finished. It has been a marathon not helped by our perfectionism and owning a house that is often demanding our attention with 'age issues' . But we hope to have the hut ready to offer to rent by the end of July. So over the next few weeks there will be more posts as we put the finishing touches to it .
