The Heritage Trail is a great walk taking in the town’s historic Georgian buildings, and a footpath along the beck passes the weir to the old canal basin which is renowned locally as a real wildlife haven. There are many walks and footpaths that lead directly from Bedale, with trails to suit all ages and abilities. With its magnificent ballroom, Bedale Hall also houses the museum, tourist information centre, library and a childrens play area in the park. Kiplin Hall and Jervaulx Abbey are always popular, as is Nosterfield Nature Reserve. Places to visit locally include Bedale Golf Club, Thorpe Perrow Arboretum with its Bird of Prey Centre. The Wensleydale Railway is also a popular attraction, you can purchase tickets and board the train at Bedale Station.
