A big thanks to everyone that raced today we had a decent turn out considering the mixed weather conditions.

The track conditions were challenging for everyone with gentle throttle control being the key to a decent result!

Don't forget that this coming Sunday the Nene plays host to the second round the Nitro X Cross winter series. If you are thinking about joining the club and wish to witness a popular class of racing then come along this Sunday for the racing and Saturday afternoon to see some relaxed practicing ahead of the meeting. If you are coming to watch then entry is free and if you are looking for information on the club then reach out to any of the racers and ask them to point you in the direction of Darren, Dan or Leigh or any of our club members. The LOSR Committee are pleased to announce the provisional 2025 National Series Calendar.

2025 will see Large Scale National racing return to Notts and Derby Off Road (NDOR) with 8 rounds at 8 different tracks across the UK.

Following the members vote at the AGM in October, 2025 will see the return of the Northern and Southern regional championships that will run alongside the National Series. The Clubman class will no longer run from 2025.

The National series remains unchanged. Open to everyone and best 5 from 8 rounds to count.

The Regional Series will be best 3 from 4 rounds (with double points at the final championship round). The regional series is open to everyone except the 15 drivers who finished in the top 5 of each class in the National Series in 2024. Drivers may only enter either the Northern or Southern Series.

Round 1: 29th - 30th March 2025 - NDOR The Home of 1/8 and 1/10 Off Road
Round 2: 19th - 20th April 2025 - MMR Raceway
Round 3: 17th - 18th May 2025 - North Ings Raceway
Round 4: 14th - 15th June 2025 - Nene Valley Raceway Off Road Model Car Club
Round 5: 5th - 6th July 2025 - North West Nitro
LSOR European Championships: 21st - 26th July 2025 Fehring, Austria
Round 6: 16th - 17th August 2025 - SUSSEX RC CAR CLUB
Round 7: 13th - 14th September 2025 - Pickering RC Track
Round 8: 11th - 12th October 2025 North West Large Scale

Northern Regional Series Rounds:
Round 1 = National R1 at NDOR
Round 2 = National R3 at North Ings
Round 3 = National R7 at Pickering RC Track
Round 4 = National R8 at North West Large Scale

Southern Regional Series Rounds
Round 1 = National R2 at MMR Raceway
Round 2 = National R4 at Nene Valley Raceway

Well done to everyone who braved the weather today. In between the late showers, we managed 4 rounds of qualifying and a 20 minute combined final, a good time was had by all.

1st place: Leigh Bond, Tekno
2nd place: Mark Higgins, WiRC
3rd: James Tee, WiRC.

Next up is our big maintenance weekend on 26th-27th October. Please give up a couple of hours of your time if you can.

Then we host Nitro X Cross on 10th November.

The weather is holding here, so we have been able to run a little meeting for those that are here. Before racing got started, thanks to those that had a little bit of a tidy up.

Just as a reminder, here are all the current 1/8th scale race meetings being held at Nene Valley Raceway this Winter and into 2025.
Please support your club by attending the club rounds where possible. Additionally, when you can please support both the Nitro X Cross and AWS series. It would be great to have as many Nene Valley drivers attending these rounds as possible.
Round 1 of the winter Nitro-x-cross series is at Deerdale Off Road this coming weekend Sunday 13th October with paid practice available on the Saturday.

The first of your club winter series is the following weekend on Sunday 20th October.

The key event for us is our Astro Attack charity event, which was postponed until next spring. Plans are afoot to make this an amazing event once again and not to be missed!

It might not have happened this year, but Nene Valley Raceway's annual Astro Attack charity fundraiser will be back in Spring 2025!

Please save the date of Saturday 5th to Sunday 6th April 2025 in your racing calendar!

More details in the coming months, but there will be two days of relaxed fun racing for ALL abilities (including cash prizes), great entertainment, quality food and a massive raffle to raise funds again for Safe Haven 4 Caitlin.

A new Facebook event page will appear shortly with a booking in link and race information as it develops, so please book in early, like and share!
