Great news from Windstar Cruises yesterday - they are going to cruise out of London from Tower Bridge in 2026 on a small number of sailings! What a sight this will be!!

Many of you won't know a huge amount about Windstar of course but that's why we're here! We're not your average agency; we are officially the UK & Irelands Best Independent Cruise Agency (Wave Awards, November 2024)! Windstar is a small ship cruise line with 6 different yachts from the 3 iconic Wind ships complete with sails to the 3 All Suite Star yachts with 1 further yacht coming - the incredible looking Star Seeker!

It will be Star Pride that comes to London in 312 guests in 156 suites. This all-suite yacht has had a recent full refresh so it feels fresh and new despite it's age. Big and exciting news from Royal Caribbean this morning as they revealed more details of their first Royal Beach Club - Paradise Island in Nassau!!

Paradise Island will be 17 acres in size, has 2 beaches, 7 beach bars, 3 pools, 3 swim up bars including the worlds largest!!! There are also 3 beach grills so you won't go hungry, Wi-fi and entertainment across the island with DJ's and performers!

While Robbie stepped onboard Cunard Queen Victoria for his educational trip, Jon stepped onboard her younger sibling for the day, the impressive looking Queen Anne!

Queen Anne very much represents a modern twist on Cunard for us. There are lots of elements and venues that youโ€™ll recognise as Cunard but the ship is very much a modern day build. If youโ€™ve been on P&O Arvia, Iona, maybe the Princess ships or the latest Carnival ships then you may recognise elements, spaces and layout on Queen Anne.

Now, for us, thereโ€™s something magical about Queen Elizabeth, Victoria and Mary 2; they are timeless ships and totally unique. You feel like youโ€™re in another world when youโ€™re onboard these ships; itโ€™s proper escapism.

Queen Anne doesnโ€™t quite give the same vibes however for anyone who loves new ships, for anyone whoโ€™s thought about Cunard but are not sure itโ€™s for them then Queen Anne is perfect. It feels less of a jump for some guests. It is no surprise then that a large percentage of guests stepping onboard Queen Anne are new to Cunard and thatโ€™s exactly what Cunard were hoping for!

Last week we were fortunate enough to be invited to London for the exclusive Annual Seabourn partner lunch and as Robbie was making his way back from his mini cruise it was a perfect opportunity! Even the brand new President (Day 5 of his role) flew in from Miami to be thereโ€ฆ hereโ€™s some things we learned:

๐Ÿ’› 2024 was full of achievements - Seabourn introduced a brand new restaurant (Solis) across its fleet of ships. Starlink was installed so you can have super fast Wi-Fi onboard. The stunning expedition ship, Seabourn Pursuit was named in the incredible Kimberley (Australia)!

๐Ÿ’› U.K. bookings for Seabourn are up 22% with more and more of you falling in love with the warm, relaxed, friendly atmosphere that we ourselves have enjoyed on our Seabourn cruises!

๐Ÿ’› 2025 has double the number of Expedition Cruises in The Kimberley Regionโ€ฆ 12 instead of 6โ€ฆ and they are virtually sold out - 2026 into 2027 are now on sale and you need to look at booking these now!

๐Ÿ’› Asia is seeing exactly the same trend - 2025 is very very well sold with 2026 now on saleโ€ฆ

๐Ÿ’› Seabourn Moments are reasons for guests to return again and again with thr ships small enough & have enough autonomy to make things happen - we heard of a moment recently where the captain decided that every guest should have a gift of a piece of locally produced Baklavaโ€ฆ Seabourn contacted several local Turkish bakers and asked for a piece of Baklava to be made for every guest โ€ฆ for the next dayโ€ฆ they found one who could do it and every guest received that gift! We experienced similar things when we went shopping with the chef on our own cruiseโ€ฆ

๐Ÿ’› We learned that Seabourn are already working on guest speakers for the second half of 2026 for their Seabourn Conversations series onboard which has seen Jeffrey Archer, Sue Barker, Dane Stella Re*****on (former MI5) all appear this year! In fact Authors that have sailed with Seabourn this year have sold over ONE BILLION books between them!!!

๐Ÿ’› We learned how the shows are produced - they take on average 12 months of writing, producing, rehearsing before you see them onboard and they can have as many as 500 auditions to produce 1 cast!! On a recent world cruise of 146 days there wasnโ€™t a single show repeated! ๐Ÿ˜ณ We then had a preview of their new show โ€˜Better Togetherโ€™ (check our previously posted video on our feed for a glimpse!)

๐Ÿ’› Image Masters is a new onboard Photography experience you can have ! Taking place over 4 days of your 10 night expedition cruise you will work with the hugely talented and experienced photographers onboard to develop your own skills! Youโ€™ll have your own work station, use the photo studio onboard, attend lectures and have 1 to 1โ€™s before putting this new skills to the test ashore โ€ฆ there will be a host of exclusive experiences such as getting off the ship ahead of other guests so you can take footage of a ship arriving. Youโ€™ll often spend more time in Zodiacs, going to different places and spaces to get the very best footage! You donโ€™t need lots of equipment as some guests simply use their mobile phones! There are just 10 places on each voyage and these are now selling out in advance of each voyage!

๐Ÿ’› We saw lots of incredible footage from voyages in Greenland where the Northern Lights were at their most vibrant, from South Pacific which has so much more than just sea and sand, from a 14 night New Guinea and Indonesia voyageโ€ฆ

Thereโ€™s a whole world out there and Seabourn are delivering incredible ways of experiencing it in luxury โ€ฆ whether itโ€™s the Caribbean (This is the most popular destination for UK guests), the Mediterranean, Antarctica or The Kimberley โ€ฆ

We all know that Cunard are industry leading when it comes to talks and lectures onboard !

However you may be surprised to know that in the Queen Room last week there was a brilliant talk all about the phenomenons that are Banksy & Mr Brainwash! Not necessarily artists you might associate with Cunard as a brand but you can also buy their work in the art gallery!!

Really interesting to hear some of the rumours about Banksy in particular, how the now famous artwork that shredded in the auction had a malfunction therefore inadvertently becoming the first piece of art created at auctionโ€ฆ and how the buyer was given the opportunity to withdraw but went ahead with the purchase at just over one million AND has now sold the artwork for just over EIGHTEEN MILLION!!

You never know what youโ€™re going to experience on a Cunard cruise and that is some of the magic! โค๏ธ

Now to be fair, we never struggle to find good food on a cruise! However as you can probably see from the photosโ€ฆ the food onboard Cunard Queen Victoria was very very good!!

So whether it was the evening meal in the Princess Grill or the Afternoon Tea or the freshly made chicken burger in the lido grill or the fish and chips in the Golden Lionโ€ฆ weโ€™ll stopโ€ฆ the food was beautiful!

However when it all comes down to itโ€ฆ images and moments of absolute beauty and tranquility like this which we experienced on our Cunard Queen Victoria voyage this weekโ€ฆ are the reason why we cruise! These are the special moments and the moments that will live forever!

Good morning all from somewhere in The English Channel as we enjoy a sea day today! We thought weโ€™d take the opportunity to talk Grills, give you a glimpse inside, talk about the benefits and also how youโ€™d never know this was all hereโ€ฆ

๐€ โ€˜๐’๐ก๐ข๐ฉ ๐–๐ข๐ญ๐ก๐ข๐ง ๐€ ๐’๐ก๐ข๐ฉโ€™:

Think of larger ship luxury as like โ€˜a ship within a shipโ€™ concept! You get an elevated experience in your โ€˜shipโ€™ while still being able to enjoy the rest of the ship whenever you want! You can dip in and out and for many itโ€™s the best of both! They want a little extra luxury, a little exclusivity BUT love the buzz and the going onโ€™s of a larger ship which smaller ships can rarely replicate!

While Cunard may have been one of the first to have suite class and itโ€™s often said it has a class systemโ€ฆ the same is now true of MSC, NCL, Celebrity & Royal who all operate a suite class with similar perks, spaces and experiences. In that sense it is no differentโ€ฆ

๐“๐ก๐ž ๐๐ž๐ง๐ž๐Ÿ๐ข๐ญ๐ฌ:

Letโ€™s start with the Suites! As you might imagine they are larger with more space to enjoy; our Princess Grill Suite (more on our suite in another post) has a separate seating area with a 2nd TV which operates independently of the 1st TV. They all come with private spacious balconies too! Youโ€™ll find a host of touches from coffee machines to a welcome bottle of fizz and chocolates along with your bottle of wine. Thereโ€™s a pillow menu, enhanced Penhaligon's toiletries, fruit basket, bottled water and your suite steward introduces the suite and is on call whenever you need them.

Outside of your Suite youโ€™ll enjoy a beautiful private lounge with its own bar which you can enjoy whenever you wish during the day! While alcoholic drinks are not included there are some complimentary speciality coffees, hot chocolate and moreโ€ฆ

There is a great Suite Terrace and although the weather at this time of the year is not conducive to sitting outside we can see huge potential! This leads onto private deck space with comfy seating and padded loungers to enjoy! Perfect on a sea day saving you from searching for a lounger on main deck!

Then thereโ€™s the Princess Grill Restaurant and Queens Grill restaurants which are open for breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner! The service is absolutely wonderful, the food is delicious and on the menu there are even special dishes you can order for 2 (or a hungry 1) that are prepared at the tableโ€ฆ like the Grand Marnier Duck being flambรฉed in the picture belowโ€ฆ

Oh and priority check in definitely helpsโ€ฆ especially when youโ€™ve been travellingโ€ฆ!!

๐ˆ๐ฌ ๐“๐ก๐ž๐ซ๐ž ๐€ ๐๐จ๐ญ๐ข๐œ๐š๐›๐ฅ๐ž ๐‚๐ฅ๐š๐ฌ๐ฌ ๐’๐ฒ๐ฌ๐ญ๐ž๐ฆ?

Letโ€™s dispel this myth straight awayโ€ฆ for us? Noโ€ฆ absolutely not! In fact the Grill spaces on Queen Victoria are so well tucked away that some of us are still struggling to find itโ€ฆ itโ€™s Day 3!!! ๐Ÿคฃ Itโ€™s actually very discreet and there is noticeable difference across the ship for anyone else! For example we know on other cruise lines thereโ€™s reserved theatre seating for Suite guests so if anything thatโ€™s more noticeable than anything Cunard are offering here! (We obviously have no issue with it either way)!

Will you find 1 or 2 guests who like to say they are in Grills? Possibly! Is it any different to the guest sitting next to you who likes to ask how many cruises youโ€™ve done so that they can tell you theyโ€™ve done 134? Not really! ๐Ÿ˜ƒ People are people, weโ€™re all different, we all place importance on different things and thatโ€™s wonderful!
