The cute cafe at Templemore Baths is now run by Graham and his lovely team at Courtyard Cafe Templemore. If you haven’t tried their scones or hot chocolate you’re missing a ! yourself over while you’re in for a guided tour, a free self-guided look around the Heritage Centre or after a swim or workout in the fab leisure centre!

The late Sir Michael Parkinson was a great friend and fan of . He visited George Best House in 2018. The house has since been redecorated to evoke it's 1960s interior when young George lived there. The interviews 'Parkie' held with George over the years became legendary. Interesting to hear about the new voice project being undertaken by Sir Michael's son.

Today is World Mental Health Day. Take some time not just to think about but act on the things that a calming, positive, or rewarding for you and your mental health.

Make some time for physical activity and take a stroll through Orangefield or Victoria Parks. Make it mindful too, enjoy East Belfast's nature via Connswater Community Greenway or RSPB's Window on Wildlife. If you want more of a hike, why not check out National Trust Belfast's Cregagh Glen? Take lunch out in the ☀️ from somewhere in Banana Block, or just make time for a favourite book.

And always remember, if it feels wrong, speak out and seek help when you need it. There are many organisations and charities supporting mental health in East Belfast - or where ever you are! Historian, Jason Burke, of the Historical Belfast podcast and the Belfast Telegraph, will be bringing the city's streets to life in a Templemore Talk on November 5!

Jason has been mapping Belfast's history in various directions and formats. Not only has his popular Historical Belfast podcast criss-crossed our city over the course of four years and 75 episodes but his recent column, Streets of Belfast, published in the Belfast Telegraph has begun to piece together a vibrant history of the city.

To mark the 30th anniversary of the Loyalist Ceasefire in 1994, the Legacy Network has launched the ‘30 From Conflict To Peace’ programme.

The programme includes a series of events taking place over two weeks in October to educate people about the historical significance of the Loyalist ceasefire and reflecting upon the importance of peace over the past 30 years.

This will include;

- A public exhibition exploring Loyalism’s journey from Conflict To Peace at Albertbridge Accordian Band Hall (open this week only).

- The Path To Peace panel discussion exploring events leading up to the Loyalist ceasefire and the significance of it today.

- A Vision for the Future panel discussion exploring a vision for the future for Unionism and Loyalism.

Halloween Horror at Templemore Baths! October 31, 19:00. 👻🎃☠️

Tod Browning’s 1932 film Freaks was banned in the UK for over 30 years for its shocking and grotesque nature, this controversial film broke barriers and changed film censorship forever.

Both empathetic and deeply disturbing, it is a blood-curdling way to celebrate Halloween!

This screening will be introduced by filmmaker Katie McFadden.

The film has a 12A rating.
