Earlier last month, Kapama celebrated the birth of a new rhino calf! But this mother's journey has not been easy... In 2013, this very same female rhino fell victim to poaching and was left without her horns.
This rhino had such a will to live, that not only did she survive the terrible ordeal, but after excessive rehabilitation, attention and dedication from the vet’s team, her wounds healed and her horns even grew back! Fast forward to today and she is thriving with a newborn calf!
We have been partnered with the amazing team at Save The Rhino for over 9 years, and are proud to continue working alongside their team to support essential rhino conservation.
