Please note that the trail centres at Castlewellan and Rostrevor will be closed tomorrow with the yellow weather warning.

Barnett Demesne and Cave Hill MTB Trails have issued warnings to users to exercise caution.

Gortin Glen Forest Park are advising people to avoid wooded areas where tree fall potential is a threat to public safety.

Unfortunately with the approaching storm, this weekend's MTB events at Gortin Glen Forest Park with First Tracks Enduro Cup have had to be postponed.

In light of the upcoming weather forecast, we've decided to postpone this weekend's gravel and enduro events. Safety and enjoyment are our top priorities, and with Storm Kathleen's approach, we believe it's best to reschedule. Rest assured, we'll confirm a new date shortly, aiming for safer weather conditions for all participants to fully enjoy the events. Once the new date is set, your entry will be automatically transferred and in the event that it no longer suits, you can request a refund at that stage. If you're a Youth rider and want to race Enduro in 2024, keep reading to find out more. 👀

We are blown away every time we do this with the skill and enthusiasm of all the little shredders out there, and we're sure you lot are buzzing for it already! 🤟🏼🙂

To get your golden ticket, we are looking for a good skill level, a reasonable level of fitness (steady ride for 2-3 hours), great trail etiquette, a big smile, and all the kit for racing. (a good working bike, back protection, full face helmet, knee/elbow pads, and gloves).

So if you're thinking about racing during 2024, get your name down and put this date/time in your calendar.

Venue: Gortin Glen (main carpark)
Date: Saturday 6th April
Time: Starts 2pm and finishes 4pm

Parents/guardians, please EMAIL the following to [email protected]

1. Riders name
2. Riders licence number
3. Riders DOB
4. Anything you think we should know
5. Your name and contact number

So if your little ripper turns 12 before the end of 2024, get them signed up. Anyone who turns 14 during 2024 is in the Junior category and doesn't have to complete an assessment.

A Youth rider must pass this assessment before racing. DO NOT turn up without this, or you risk not being able to race!

Youth riders - If you haven't already entered the Gortin Glen race, please do so now. If you don't pass the assessment for any reason you will get a refund.
