As Easter is fast approaching and some of you have bookings with us, I thought I'd start putting together some of the places we enjoy visiting whilst we're holidaying at Oakdene Forest Park (an Isle of Wight post will follow later this week).
Muddeford - just a 20 minute drive away and parking right by the beach. We often come here as they have a play park next to the sea, a fish shop selling fresh fish (I recommend the muscles - so tasty!), the RNLI is based here and the beach itself is well worth a visit. Another popular thing to try is the crabbing. How many will you catch?
Moors Valley - free to get into and all you pay for is the parking. Great for children and adults. There is a little railway there for younger children, great play equipment, cycle and forest trails to take part in and a crazy golf. We often take a trip to Sainsburys before going there and pack a picnic to eat on one of their picnic benches. A fun day out to be had! https://moors-valley.co.uk/
Avon Heath - again only down the road and you just pay for parking. They have a large play park and a cafe on site (I recommend the ice creams here - lots of flavours!). We also love that there's a large grass area so that children (and adults!) can play ball games. There's also a wildlife area which has a sand lizard enclosure and a bird hide. Plus there are walks and trails you can do.

When our children were younger, another fab day out to be had was at Farmer Palmers. So much to do here. Tractor rides, soft play, play barn, visiting animals, bouncy castles, dinosaur trails plus lots more.

Local beaches - plenty to visit and all within a 20-25 minute drive away.
Sobo Beach - with the weather getting warmer this is a place I can't wait to visit. It is part of Southbourne beach, known for its large sandy expanse. Sobo Beach provides food and drink options and is right on the beach. I can recommend the Mojito!
Bournemouth - lots to do here including the aquarium and of course, the Pier.
The New Forest National Park. The New Forest is well known for its spectacular heath landscapes, stunning forest trails and free-roaming wildlife. Meet the resident New Forest ponies or, if you're lucky, maybe even some deer!
Poole - a great shopping centre which has Flip Out inside it! With a wide range of attractions including E-Karting, Interactive Football, Laser Tag, Bumper Cars, Roller Rink, Battle Cannon Arena and Soft Play, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. Our children can't wait to come back here. Also great that you can park in the Dolphin shopping centre car park.

If you have a National Trust membership then Kingston Lacy is a beautiful place to visit. https://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/visit/dorset/kingston-lacy
Although we haven't been here, some friends of ours recommend Monkey World. We're going to add it to our list! https://monkeyworld.org/
If you have any Peppa Pig fans or fans of theme parks then Paulton's Park is only 20 minutes drive away too.
Any questions or if you would like to visit Oakdene Forest Park and stay in either of our caravans, then please do message us. We put a post out yesterday with our remaining Easter availability.
