Congratulations to Paul Baines and Jeremy Entwistle, who successfully passed their Tier 1 All-weather lifeboat pass-outs on Sunday, 15/12/2024.

Tier one pass-outs are the culmination of months of hard work in preparation and training from a crew member who first joined the crew to become competent in the essential functions of Lifeboating skills. The four-hour exercise involved all aspects of lifeboat crew operations, such as launch and recovery, anchoring, towing, locating and assisting casualties, and demonstrating an understanding of some of the RNLI's policies and procedures. The crew must demonstrate a high level of competence and confidence throughout.

During the pass-outs, the crew had to act independently at times as well as be part of the close-knit team we are during certain evolutions. While completing the pass out, the crew must show that they operate safely and remain focused.

Coxswain Vince Jones said.

"Congratulations to both Paul and Jez today. Their success today results from their dedication to training and hard work preparing to pass out today. Also, thanks to our crew, who have assisted in the prep work. All our team give 100%, and the hard work pays off and helps us to provide the amazing service we do"

As you all will know we have had a new rib join the fleet this year she is called ENDEAVOUR she is the sister ship of our current boat DISCOVERY, I’m sad to say that the BEAST now has retired from duty she has served us well over many years.

Menai Bridge Tigers 4 Pentraeth 4. Jake⚽ Jaco ⚽⚽ Jack⚽. A really good comeback there team, made for a really exciting game for the crowd watching! Conditions were tough and the pitch was heavy - making for a bit of a slug fest! After a pretty poor first half, we really made up for it in the second. Menai Bridge scored their goals from counter attacks, and we just need to be able to deal with them better. But credit to you all for gritting your teeth and working hard to get back into the game. Our teamwork and ability to bounce back is showing great character from you all - keep looking out for each other on the pitch and good results will come.

Man of the match today was Jaco for a really strong performance up front against some big and strong defenders, and bagging a couple of goals for the hard work and effort was fully deserved.
