Another glorious day in Berwick, once the fog cleared! 🐬🦭

We sat at the lighthouse and watched the dolfins and seals (wasn't quick enough for photos), and a beautiful long walk home.

Magnificent Cragside and picturesque Rothbury 🌳 ...

A must-see when staying in Northumberland. Cragside is the first house in the world to have been powered by Hydro Electricity. The home of Lord Armstrong is a truly astounding place to visit, with acres of breathtaking scenic landscapes surrounding it, now a National Trust property.

The town of Rothbury nearby is a lovely way to spend a few hours too. Take walks along the river, over stepping stones, a lovely play park for kids and some lovely shops and pubs.

Northumberland is full of beautiful spots, and Felton is one of our favourites 😍

A small village with the award winning pub, and everyone's favourite place for afternoon tea . We visited this weekend as a treat for our 6 year old boy. His MASSIVE Steak and Ale pie went down a storm 👌

A wander up to the beautiful church is a must, with its history dating back fo 1199ad!

📢We have news!📢

We are now accepting not one, but two dogs in our holiday cottage!

Research has revealed that the average household has 1.6 dogs... so we decided to take action and now allow our guests to bring 2 furry family members to Brown Bear House 😍

So pack their PJs and bring them along 🐕💕

I've discovered another gem in Berwick 😍 This is hands down the best crab sandwich I've ever had! (Crab, avocado and rocket actually 🦀)

Located right in the heart of Berwick, Deyn's Deli has huge upstairs windows which overlook the famous Town Hall. I picked a cosy seat downstairs, but there was also outside seating for people watching and seagull dodging!

The menu is mouthwatering, the cakes look every but as appetising ad the savoury food... but there was no room left after my crab feast!

Definitely worth a visit next time you're in 👌

Can you believe this Sunday Dinner is actually the children's portion!? £4.95 including a lovely soup to start (£7.95 for adults, including coffee or ice cream).

Our 8 year old chose the more adventurous Marinara Pizza, with tuna, prawns, muscles, garlicand chunks of octopus... he devoured the lot! Also really reasonably priced at £6.95.

is one of our go-to restaurants when we're eating out with our kids, the staff are super friendly, and the large restaurant is decorated beautifully- plus the food never disappoints!

Perfect Lazy Sunday Afternoon 👌

Spring is definitely in the air 🌱
Since a lot of the shops are closed on a Sunday, we decided to have lunch then take a walk around the Elizabethan Walls surrounding Berwick and take in the beautiful views. We never get bored of how gorgeous this town is!

Throw back to this time last year - what a difference! We overhauled every inch of this beautiful old house and restored it back to being a gorgeous home once more.

The stairs are now bright and light with a stunning oak bannisters. Swipe to see what it used to look like ➡️ before the renovation started 🏚 and after 🏡

📢 Big shout out for this lovely café 📢

Last week I tried for the first time. I was on the hunt for something warm and nourishing, and I found it 💛

Northen Soul is unlike anywhere I've been before. They take perfectly good food that would otherwise be wasted by supermarkets, and turn it into something hearty and delicious.... and then they let you decide how much to pay. You're given a small zipped purse at the end of your meal, whereby you choose the amount. You then pop it into their honesty box and go on your way 🤗

Apart from being an absolutely lovely café with a gorgeous vibe, great music and lovely staff (who are volunteers 😍)... my soup was beautiful too!

I'll definitely be back! 🙌

⭐ Another Amazing Find ⭐

We have another favourite shop in Berwick ☂️

Yesterday I came across this beautiful new shop called Puddles (as recommended by the lovely Kirstie from )

Puddles has recently been opened by Abbie (and Shakira 🐾) and sells all sorts of beautiful items. My favourite is the handmade dog collars, bows and leads - but everything is worth a look!

stole my heart, definitely the place to go if you're a dog lover!

⭐ Brand New for Berwick ⭐

Today I've had a look around the brand new Leisure Centre, which opened its doors to customers last week. Costing over £22million it's very impressive 🏊‍♀️

Less than a mile from Brown Bear House, and less than 2 mins drive away... perfect fun on a rainy day. Or a very short walk if it's sunny!

The facilities are fabulous, the water slides in the pool are great for little ones, as is the gorgeous soft play area. 👪

The gym is huge and very well equipped, plus a state of the art spinning room 🚲 🏋️‍♂️

'For those wanting a bit of rest and relaxation there is a new spa facility which includes a sauna, steam room, salt room, experience showers and spa pool' my idea of a perfect day! ♨️

🐾 DOG FRIENDLY HOLIDAY! 🐾

Brown Bear House welcomes your 4 legged family member too 🧡

We have made our home welcoming and cosy for your dog too, with their own doggy bedroom, aka The Dog House. We have a large dog bed, box of dog toys and a place to hang their leads in their little room. We even leave a few dog treats and poo bags, just incase you forget to pack them.

⭐ Hidden Gem ⭐

What a beautiful book shop! I loved visiting Slightly Foxed, and meeting the lovely Claire who runs it with her friend.

Massively cosy and inviting, somewhere I could happily spend hours browsing. I recommend a visit next time you're on Bridge Street (just a short walk from )

In less than 10 minutes I've nipped out from Brown Bear House and I'm sitting in one of my favourite Berwick eateries 🥖🍅

A beautiful 7 minute walk over the bridge from home and onto Bridge Street and I've received a warm welcome and a seat in Atelier (Cafe, charcuterie and bar) and I've been served with the most delicious artisan sandwich (air dried beef and parmesan with lemon oil, for those who are interested 😉)

A perfect pit stop to relax and unwind and eat fabulous food, with maybe a 🍷or 2

I love this cosy bedroom.

It’s so warm and inviting, but still really spacious with gorgeous fitted wardrobes and loads of space.

The small window looks out across the harbour, you can see the boats, the lighthouse and the sea ⚓️

What a brilliant day out in the winter sunshine! ☀️❄
Just over 30 mins drive from Brown Bear House, is Northumberland Zoo.

We played in the activity park, looked around the tractor museum and watched so many animals... lemurs (our favourite), lynx, snow leopards, armadillo, parrots, deer, goats... the list goes on!

The brand new solft playlist due to be installed in the coming weeks.

Northumberland Zoo is just a few minutes from the A1. You can't miss it as it's got a huge yellow truck marking the entrance 🙌
