Berwick-Upon-Tweed is home to the most complete bastioned town defences in England .⚔️

Control of the town passed back and forward between England and Scotland until the late 17th century. Each attack brought repairs and improvements to the fortifications, resulting in the great artillery ramparts begun in 1558. 💪

Congratulations to all the brave souls who managed to dry their January, as in completely; not one drop of alcohol having passed their clamped lips and now their born again livers are bouncing around like billy-oh, sleeves rolled up, ready for the rest of the year. Bring it on! In order to recognise these stalwart souls , Mr Coxon has brought forth some real gems from the cellar. Many have not surfaced before but are now on offer to be explored and investigated. My type of research… cin cin!
