Llynnau Mymbyr have an iconic view of the Snowdon Massif, stretching out at the head of the Mymbyr Valley and flanked by pine forest that ends to the slopes of Moel Siabod.
The S1 and T10 Snowdon Sherpa bus travels around the Snowdon area and is excellent (bus stop 15 min walk from Coedfa). Stop at Pont Cyfyng which is the bridge that crosses the Afon Llugwy near the car park.
Follow Vivienne Rickman guide to outdoors places to swim in Snowdonia. Lake Mymbyr is one lake she suggests- maybe not today !!!!

A stage setting on a grand scale with a jumble of white, ochre and pastel coloured buildings standing out strikingly.
The breathtaking beauty of an eccentric Italian style Village created by Welsh architect Sir Clough Williams-Ellis with its picturesque estuary and the majestic Snowdonia hills in the distance is Portmeirion close to Porthmadog.
Can be seen from Ynys (village off the A496 between Harlech and Maentwrog) or if adventurous by kayak on the Dwyryd Estuary!
One can take the steam train and a walk from the station or park up and enjoy a splending day out for all the family.

A popular lake with swimmers and one of the largest natural, glacially formed lake in Wales is the magnificent Lake Padarn, Llanberis.
The lake is nestled amidst some of Snowdonia's most spectacular scenery.
Towards the south eastern end you will discover the enchanting and extensive Padarn Country Park which covers an area of 800 acres which includes a quarry, industrial heritage trail and ancient woodland which are designated Sites of Special Scientific Interest.
There is also the Llanberis Lake Railway which runs along Llyn Padarn.
The park grounds are open all year round and ample parking on site. Approximately 20 min drive from us at Coedfa Cottages

Honoured to be listed in North Wales Live:-
"This Snowdonia village is as pretty as can be, with its huddle of dark stone and slate houses and gentle river flanked by lush greenery. Being the gateway to the grandeur of Snowdonia, there is natural beauty aplenty. Llyn Elsi, Swallow Falls, and Fairy Glen are straight out of a fairytale, or you can venture to Cadair Idris for an exhilarating mountain hike. Give your walking boots a break and spend time exploring the village, too the Conwy Valley Railway Museum showcases old-fashioned steam trains, or you can hop from one cosy pub to another."

Betws-y-Coed in Conwy is seen by many as the "gateway to Eryri" and boasts incredible views, fantastic walking trails, and glorious forests so we're not overly surprised it's been recognised by the team at Go Outdoors as the best place for a holiday in the UK.

A popular and picturesque stone bridge, Pont Y Pair Bridge was originally built around 1486.
This bridge became an important bridge as people were diverted to cross the river Conwy at this point. This bridge is still a main crossing point for traffic.
The Waterloo Bridge was built in 1815 by Thomas Telford.
Lovely place to kick off a walk in the Gwydyr forest. Many of the walks start from here with small waterfalls on the river below and lots of sitting areas, a great spot for chilling out

Whatever the weather, Jenny from Lima Gardens and I (the green thumb team) press on to plant, prude, weed, edge, trim, clear....... The most vibrant displays of autumn colours evident on this wet, cold, seasonal day at Coedfa's garden. The yellow, red and brown colours and rainbows like I have never seen before. The dropping of temperature and the nights drawing in as winter approaches. Cosy fire and a warm hot chocolate springs to mind as we wring our wet clothes and glance at our achievements of the day-even if it was dark!!! Thank you Jenny for your help and expertise. limagardenwales.co.uk #limagardens #gardening #autumn #autumncolours🍂🍁 #coedfacottages #placestostay #visitbetwsycoed #autumngarden #autumngardening
Connecting to nature is so important for our health and wellbeing and this 'round the block' walk from Coedfa has it all. Turbulent cascades of white water falling into plunge pools, lichen, moss, slippery rock, trees clinging to cliffs plants, flowers and wildlife. There is no time to be bored in an area as beautiful as this. From Coedfa take the Fairy Glen route up the slate trail to Conwy Falls, designed by Clough Williams Ellis for a lovely cup of tea and cake. Head towards the derelict remains of the Penmachno Woollen Mill. Cross the bridge to the 17th Century Packhorse Bridge known as the Roman Bridge (shown in a previous instagram) to the Machno Falls approx 3 hrs. #
