Phillips International Travel We are a small family-run coach firm based in Bewdley. Visit our website for up to date information No music or videos are played on board.

The proprietors of our company are Celia & Alan Phillips, both of whom have over 30 years experience in as coach tour operators, operating European coach holidays throughout the UK, France, Italy and Europe. In fact one or both of them will be acting as driver/courier when you choose to travel with us. Their son, Julian joined the company in 2015 and he is the driver on the majority of trips. The

emphasis of our tours, both European coach holidays and day excursions, is quiet and relaxing, the journey being as enjoyable as the destination. An informative commentary is given on all journeys, and in most cases hot and cold drinks are served at your seat. The vehicle you will be travelling on is the most up to date in respect of comfort and safety. As coach tour operators our programme of tours, day excursions and european coach holidays is changed annually, but most destinations are repeated, within two to three years. The hotels are carefully selected by Celia and Alan Phillips, and equally the itineraries are planned with the utmost care. The programme listed on this site can be arranged for a private group, but we are pleased to discuss with any organiser the individual requirements for their particular party. We have over 120 boarding points throughout Wyre Forest and the Black Country but our picking up for trips lasts a maximum of 100 minutes - all travelling in the right direction. Our coach is visiting the urban utopia of Birmingham this rainy afternoon where our customers are attending a concert at Symphony Hall. Some of Tchaikovsky's music will be played by the CBSO, conducted by Kazuki Yamada.

JANUARY ROUNDUP

The first month of 2025 began with a New Year's Day visit to Trentham where our customers enjoyed a 4-courde lunch. On Saturday 4th January we headed to Staffordshire again to visit Lichfield and Cannock for the West Midlands Outlet.

Sunday 5rh January featured a visit to Birmingham for a performance of the Viennese New Year at Symphony Hall. Our coach and minibus then underwent their regular safety checks over the next couple of days.

On Saturday 11th January our coach headed to Great Malvern which was rather foggy but that cleared by the time we descended the hills into Ledbury.

Julian then spent three days on CPC courses before returning to the road again on Saturday 18th with a tour to Nantwich and Chester.

After a fourth CPC module on the following Wednesday, our coach headed to Torquay on Friday 24th January where it was based for three nights at the luxurious Belgrave Sands Hotel & Spa. Our excursion on the Saturday visited Tavistock and Buckfast Abbey. Julian then ended the month with another few days off the road whilst he drafted our new day tour list, made final arrangements for our 2026 holidays and further arrangements for 2027.

Not many miles driven this month, but there is still a lot of work that goes on behind the scenes to plan high quality tours further into the future.

New Day Tours Update 🚍

We will have our new Day Tour list published by the week commencing Monday 10th March. This will cover our day tours between April and October 2025. Our 2025/2026 Holiday Brochure will be available the following week.

As usual, we will circulate an electronic copy of both to our existing customers a few days before the printed versions become available. And there may be a few hints about destinations between now and then!

Please Help!

It has come to our attention that there will be 3-way temporary traffic lights on Kidderminster Rd in Bewdley from 24th February, lasting four weeks. This is due to planned gas works by Cadent. Whilst inconvenient at the best of times, we believe this is completely unacceptable to carry out whilst the flood defence works are underway at Beales Corner, restricting the traffic on the town bridge to one way only.

We urge all residents, businesses, transport operators and anyone else affected to contact Cadent using the email address [email protected], or the phone numbers published on the letter, to request that the works be postponed until after the flood defence works have got to the stage that the town bridge is reopened to two-way traffic.

At peak times, the 3 mile journey from Bewdley town centre around the bypass to the east side of the river can take 30 minutes or more. Our community has tolerated that for over 15 months but a further obstacle to the traffic flow such as what Cadent are proposing will increase this further. This is not exaggeration, we have all seen this every time there have been additional roadworks, or when accident occurs on the main roads in Bewdley.

Please help avert this chaos, please contact Cadent. We already have.

Our coach arrived in Liverpool at 1250 today. We will be here until 1pm tomorrow, allowing plenty of time to explore the city's many attractions. Our visit has also coincided with the celebrations of the Chinese New Year.

Behind the scenes: Before every tour we check every seat to ensure it's clean and ready for our customers. This particular driver only gets 2 points out of 10 though because he hasn't checked the seat belts!

At 0930 our coach will be leaving Bournemouth and heading back to the Midlands, brining our Twixmas break to an end.
