Moody autumn weather at Duckpool today!

Green bathing is the new sun bathing. Despite the grey clouds, time spent at the Lodge is always perfect. Today, all I heard were birds singing, a woodpecker making his holes and the very full stream flowing down in the valley, as I sat amd watched the cows on the hills opposite.

We always knew the lodge is well-located but now it’s official… a recent survey cited Clovelly as the most stylish place to live in Devon. Hartland and Appledore came third and fourth. All just a short drive from the lodge!

Northam Burrows, just 30 minutes from the lodge, is incredible all year round. It’s in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, is within a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve and is a Site of Special Scientific Interest. It’s a haven for wildlife and home to many rare plants. It has a common grazed by sheep and horses which borders on to England’s oldest links golf course, the Royal North Devon Golf Club. The beach is stunning and loved by water sports enthusiasts. Well worth several visits!
