Eclipse Promotions

Eclipse Promotions Founded in 2008, we are a professional Paranormal/Ghost Hunting Organisation that runs Ghost Hunts & Generally they run from the end of March to October.

What We Do

Eclipse Promotions offer a range of services and events for people interested in the paranormal and spiritual sides of life. Some are run exclusively by ourselves, whilst others are run alongside other companies who work together as a team to promote the work that we all do. Ghost Walks
Eclipse promotions offer ghost walks around the midlands area on a regular basis. Most walks take be

tween 90 and 120 minutes and cover a distance between 1 and 5 km. All events run over the summer months only so that they are less affected by adverse weather conditions. On one of our ghost walks, you will be guided along the walk by two guides who are both working Psychics or Mediums. They will provide information and history relating to the buildings and places you visit - as well as providing information about the spirits which are sensed there at the time of your individual tour. due o the nature of spirit activity you may find a lot or none- sadly they don't come at our beck and call - but thankfully to date we have not had a tour that hasn't had some spectral visitor. Walks currently in place or being developed for release this season include:

The Alternative Dudley Ghost Tour
Bewdley Ghost Tour
Birmingham Canal Ghost Walk
Jewellery Quarter Ghost Hunt
Bridgnorth Ghost Tour
If you know of any other areas that could benefit for ma regular or one off ghost tour please feel free to recommend it to us

Ghost Hunts & Over Night Vigils
We do not claim to be a paranormal investigation group, we prefer to refer to ourselves as a spiritual contact group - we aim to meet, explain and help people explore their own spiritual abilities so that they can experience the spectral energies around them for themselves through their own senses. Eclipse promotions provide over night vigils in a range of haunted and atmospheric conditions so that people can experience for themselves a "Most Haunted" style experience. We do not use a wide range of scientific equipment on our events as most often too many people around effect it being used effectively. We prefer to work with simple spiritual tools such as pendulums, planchette, glass work, table tipping and our own mediumistic skills. Additionally we do provide some scientific equipment such as thermometers for those who wish to try using them. Each event also includes a workshop on some form of spiritual development to assist people in developing there own skills within this field. We believe this to be essential to peoples long term enjoyment of events as they will then experience more for themselves. As far as we are aware we are the only people providing these within this format. Meal and a Medium / Psychic Suppers
These events take place at a number of locations around the midlands. These are not run by Eclipse Promotions, but are attended by Dave and Jane

A two or three course meal is provided and during the time that you are eating a number of mediums or psychics will come to your table and provide mini readings or messages for you as part of your entertainment (this is free within your ticket cost). Generally where there is space available personal in depth readings are available for an additional charge. Stand Up Mediumship Events
Live mediumship shows take place all over the country. We do not run these events ourselves, but work with other Companies who provide a number of mediums, psychics, therapists and clairvoyants to provide messages to the audience who sit to watch the show. There are also mini reading available for selected people, and on occasion small readings may be offered free (this is determined by the size of the event). At all events personal in depth readings are available for an additional charge. These event's arent run by EP but by other Companies that we support. Psychic Fairs
Psychic fairs are offered normally 3-4 times a week. At these events, there are a number of psychics, clairvoyants, mediums and therapists providing one on one readings for people who attend. Generally readings are approximately £25 for 20-30 minutes. At these events there are no presentations or mini readings offered for free, however, mini readings may be offered at a small cost

It is recommended you arrive early to book your appointment with the reader of your choice on the evening - as some do get book up very quickly.

😮 Lady Jane Grey's ghost & The Whittington Inn - Kinver, Stourbridge UK 😮

😮 The original Whittington Inn, dates back to 1310 and it comes as no surprise to discover that the present building is haunted.
Prior to becoming an inn in the 18th century, it was the manor house of the De Whittington family of the Dick Whittingham fame.

😮 One of the ghosts seen here is that of a monk who may have hidden in one of the priest holes in the building.

The other significant ghost, is that of The nine day queen~Lady Jane Grey.
Jane was the great-granddaughter of Henry VII through his younger daughter Mary.

Jane was b~headed for treason on Tower Green, on 12th February 1554, she was just 16/17 years old.

😮 Jane is thought to have stayed in the original manor house, when she was younger.
Her apparition is seen dressed in a long flowing gown.

Although she has been seen in various parts of the inn, she is well known locally for sweeping down the staircase into the main bar, before disappearing.

A headless lady is said to haunt the upper halls, could this also be Jane?

😮 Another spectre at The Whittington Inn, is a ghost who enjoys scaring the bejaysus out of various guests.
He does this by wrapping his cold, dead hands around their necks while they sleep.......

“How are people still falling for this?”

You’d expect reasonable adults to move past their beliefs in ridiculous things like bigfoot, flat Earth, and the AMPTP negotiating in good faith. But the easiest person to fool is yourself, and plenty of us have been taken in by our own ever so slightly twitchy muscles.

Today’s Moment of Science… Ouija Boards & The Ideomotor Effect

Centuries before Hasbro marketed it as a toy, spirit boards of all sorts were used to commune with the dead. The versions most of us have seen this century typically have all the letters of the Latin alphabet and the numbers 0-9 along with the words ‘yes,’ ‘no,’ and an irreverent little ‘goodbye’ to let you know the afterlife is fed up with your s**t. The spirit-board-pointer-thingy is called a planchette, French for ‘little plank.’

There are a few rumors about how it came by the modern name ‘Ouija.’ It seems the most likely story is that the group looking to patent and sell the toy in the late 1800s decided to ask the board to breathe life into its name. With hands upon the planchette, it spelled out, “ouija.” Well they just had to know what that meant. Cheeky board that it was, Ouija answered “good luck.”

It was marketed as an Egyptian spirit board with a name meaning ‘good luck.’ Eventually, that story changed to it being a combination of the French and German words for “yes.”

The cool thing about asking a Ouija board which boy in school likes you? Those tricksy spirits from the next realm are gonna tell you it’s the boy you’re thinking of. Which might be the scientific explanation for how this mundane board at the center of so many junior high sleepovers got its name.

So the legend goes, the person who suggested compelling the board to talk was wearing a locket with a picture of someone named ‘Ouida’ in it. Accounts vary on if the name was written in the locket as Ouida, Ouija, or even written at all. But it calls into question the idea that the name was perfectly random when it was already on the mind and, curiously, the fingertips.

(Allegedly or whatever, because everyone’s got a story to sell and maybe it was the French and German thing).

So, the ideomotor effect.

Humans are giant f**k-up machines and even when we’re not scheming up some s**t on purpose, our minds and bodies are getting into shenanigans without us. Somewhat literally meaning a motion from an idea, we make these minuscule movements unconsciously. Even if it’s not on purpose, this kind of motion can be motivated by our thoughts, for better or worse. Tell yourself not to move all you want, but put that ‘little plank’ underneath your hands? The back of your mind may have secrets to spill.

Everyone at the table thinks they’re definitely the only one not moving it, and everyone is almost certainly moving it. Scientists and modern skeptics alike have gone to great lengths to show that this isn’t the work of ghosts or humans who play coy with their handiwork when the board comes to life; it’s just our minds doing the talking- er, spelling for us.

This effect on a Ouija board if someone is taking the results for what they are– a reflection of their own desires– is perfectly harmless entertainment. But if you have a tendency to get spooked into believing in these things and subsequently paying money to a psychic based on some bulls**t a planchette spelled out on a toy made by the same company that produces Lite Brite, Jenga, and My Little fu***ng Pony? Maybe board game based communication attempts with dearly departed Uncle Greg isn’t for you.

That said, there are other fields in which the ideomotor effect is employed that harm practically everyone involved. But we’ll talk about facilitated communication another day.

This has been your Moment of Science, just saying… I didn’t move it. No, I didn’t. I seriously didn’t you guys.
