Hungry? How about a taste of Asia? This Flightie Friday we caught up with our First & Business Expert Justin, just back from China...
🇨🇳 What was your trip highlight?
Not knowing what to expect and being completely blown away. China is a country that we know little about, and I never expected to have the opportunity to travel and experience its culture. From the amazing greeting at the airport to the final farewell with all our new friends, I left with a full heart and a yearning to return for more.
📍 Location highlight would be Zhangjiajie National Park
📱 Any advice for first-timers?
There are a few things that I would recommend to set yourself up for the best possible experience:
1️⃣ Alipay is important to have loaded and ready to go before you arrive.
2️⃣ Get a mobile sim card so that you can stay connected with family and friends, or look into a VPN as connecting to the local internet or getting a local sim will restrict your access.
3️⃣ Book with a reputable tour company (like one of the amazing touring partners we work with) so you have someone looking out for you along the way, especially if it's your first time.
4️⃣ Understand, respect and research the culture before you go
➕ What would you do if you went again?
I just want to go back and explore MORE! I only got a small taste of what the country has to offer, and I can only imagine what else is out there for me and my clients. On my next trip, I would still like to stay with a tour so that the visa process is easier to handle. I'm also interested in visiting Shanghai, Beijing, Chengdu, Xi’an, and an island in the south called Sanya.
