The Kings Heath Business Improvement District (BID) is a defined geographical area within Kings Heath centre where businesses have voted to invest collectively in local improvements to enhance their trading environment. Since 2008, the Kings Heath BID has driven a vast number of improvements to Kings Heath and has seen increased shopper traffic and greater investment in the area. The Kings Heath C

entre Partnership (KHCP) administers the Business Improvement District (BID): KHCP is a collaboration between businesses, residents, statutory agencies (i.e. community interest groups, voluntary groups) in Central Kings Heath. Its aim is to work to provide a cleaner, safer and greener place in which to shop, work, live, learn and invest.

🌟 The biggest global initiative of its kind, the One Billion Rising Flash Mob is BACK and this time, it’s coming to Kings Heath…

Every February, people across the world come together to express their outrage and defiance at the fact that one billion women will experience some form of physical or sexual violence during their lifetime. 🌍💜

📣 In 2024, individuals of all genders, ages and abilities gathered in Birmingham’s City Centre to protest against the stark reality that continues to face women and girls throughout the city, and beyond.

This year, though, WE:ARE and The Active Wellbeing Society have joined forces to bring the One Billion Rising Flash Mob out of the City Centre and onto York Road! 🤩✨

🤝 Join us at 12.00pm on Friday 14th February as we RISE together and demand change.

💘 This Valentine’s Day, Enjoy Kings Heath is encouraging local residents, businesses and schools to and get involved in what will be a community wide clean-up, running from the 14th up until the 21st of February…

Whether it’s getting creative, or simply bringing a litter-picker along on the school run, we would be delighted to have your help in making Kings Heath a green and vibrant place for all those who use it. 🏡✨

💌 As part of this campaign, we are also asking our followers to show their appreciation for their favourite Kings Heath business (or businesses!) by writing them a short, but sweet, ‘Love Letter’.

These letters can then be shared to social media or handed directly to businesses, who will be displaying them in their shops throughout February Half Term. 🏆🌟

📣 Whatever your contribution, make sure to share it using the hashtag, , so that we can celebrate your efforts with the rest of the community!

Good to see a busy farmers market this morning & some changes on York Road. Poli serving food & drinks, Fletchers doing coffee & food in the bar & a NEW Pilates venue under construction next to the painted room. You can scan the QR code in the window to be updated but construction done towards the end of the month with classes planned for March.
One of my favourite stalls from different markets is now on the Farmers Market. Lovely different jams. Personally I like the Pear & Ginger but you can sample them first.

On Saturday, while users, residents and stakeholders were exploring the space inside Kings Heath Community Centre, a group of local artists got to work brightening up the building’s tired exterior. 🎨✨

🤩 Part of an ongoing project to establish Kings Heath as a hub for creatives across the city, they set about transforming the existing mural wall, breathing new life into its faded shapes and colours.

Our thanks go to Ginger Dan, Title Graffiti and Miscfit0121 for lending your vision and talent to our Community Centre. 🤝💜

The weekend is here which means it’s almost time for Kings Heath Streetfest 2024! Just a reminder to bring a REUSABLE PINT GLASS if you have one as York Road will be a no glass zone. Also bring some CASH for things like Crazy Golf and a CAMPING CHAIR if you want a guaranteed seat cos hopefully it will be a busy day! Look out for Dave from Pom Poms Party who will be giving out balloon creations between 1 and 4 🙂 Kingsheath Food Bank will have a stall on Silver Street with some games and a tombola and can also take any donations. See you Sunday!!!
