Join us for Birmingham Heritage Week as we explore the city's rich history through the eyes of our incredible volunteers. 🌟
Betty has been sharing Birmingham’s stories for over a decade, and now she’s inviting you on a journey through her life in a one-off tour, 'From the Horse's Mouth’. 🐎
Starting at the Roundhouse, we’ll walk along the canal and through Ladywood, uncovering how Birmingham has transformed over the past 70 years. Discover the city’s past and hear the tales of those who lived it. Don’t miss this unique opportunity to learn, share, and connect.

Workers of the Roundhouse is an animated look at the people that worked from the Roundhouse and were responsible for keeping the ‘The City of 1000 Trades’ ticking over.
The illustrations by Pickle Illustration, animated by Rosa Kennedy, focus on four key Roundhouse professions (lamplighters, stone breakers, blacksmiths and night soil workers). These professions helped to form a bustling, industrial and progressive city, cleaning and lighting courtyards and streets, and paving roads in the late Victorian era.
We commissioned these animations to interpret the history of the Roundhouse in a new way. They'll be projected into our big windows during the winter.
