A lovely sunny morning after a very wet night. Our guests are enjoying the fire pits this morning. Enjoy New Year’s Day whatever you choose to do. Maybe a walk with some fresh air is in the cards.

So peaceful and so beautiful

Sometimes we don’t take time to stop and appreciate what we have. Life can be busy at Woodcroft. I’m enjoying the sunshine this morning.

This is a private stretch on the river Wear on our farm that guests can enjoy during there stay. Kids love to collect stones and search for fossils. Watch the ducks, spot the fish and paddle in the water. The sunshine today is an added bonus Why not book a visit online. .

Voted Best North East Site on Pitchup

We received our first guests in July 2022, so it was absolutely amazing to be voted Best North East site for 2023, our first full year of opening. We were surprised & delighted to receive the award. The voting covers sites from Northumberland, Durham and North Yorkshire.

Just finished cleaning in the cabins, I took five minutes to admire the variety of daffodils that are in the borders and the tulips are just beginning to flower. While I was taking a couple of photos to share two c**k pheasant were comparing muscles in the lambing field. 🙂 it’s a lovely warm day today and the grass is growing. The swallows are early. Is that a sign things are going to brighten up. 🪴💐🌼🌺

Reduce your stress levels.

More people are working from home and some are taking the opportunity to work from a peaceful location to help concentrate on a project or important task.

We welcome our new year in with very exciting news to share you all! Last summer we had a very special visitor come to stay in our Log Cabins... Robson Green!
He and special guest Lee Ingleby spend the weekend exploring Weardale in "Weekend Escapes"! Its a brilliant watch! We'll link the episode below.
