Service 101 - 765 - 101C - QE5

Due to a road closure between Crook and Harperley, we need to divert buses as follows;

101 via Fir Tree and won’t be able to serve West Road

765 via Fir Tree and won’t be able to serve West Road

101C will pick up on West Road then divert via Fir Tree

There will be some delays to services as a result

🔺Cockfield - Diversion on 9 & 10 December🔺

We have been informed that Hollymoor Road will be closed this coming Monday and Tuesday to make repairs to the cattle grid (yes, again….)

Services 84, 84a and 85 will need to divert via Staindrop Road in Cockfield and be unable to serve the Club, Mount Pleasant and Burnt Houses stops.

Temporary stops will be sited on Staindrop Road near the junction to Front Street. Apologies for any inconvenience

Here is our Christmas and New Year schedule for the local bus services.

Our service station at Stanhope will close at 5pm on Christmas Eve, and remain closed until 7.30am on Friday 27th December, then on New Years Eve closing again at 5pm, remaining closed until 7.30am on Thursday January 2nd.

Diversion - Etherley Lane - Service 88 and 109

From tomorrow (4 Dec) and for the rest of this week, buses will not be able to turn right into Etherley Lane from Woodhouse Lane

Service 88 will pick up outside of St John’s School as usual, but will turn at the Masons Arms Roundabout, then run via Lambton Drive to reach Etherley Lane (this may cause a small delay to the service)

The service 109 that leaves St John’s School at 1537 will need to operate via Lambton Drive and will not be able to serve the stop outside Bishop Auckland College. Please cross the road to use the stop if you are one of the college students who uses this journey.

The service 109 that leaves Bishop College at 1630 will still pick up in the college grounds but then run via Lambton Drive to reach Etherley Lane

28/11/24 1030 ROAD REOPENED

Due to an accident in Hunwick the road is closed. Buses until further notice will divert via Quarry Burn Lane and omit the school and Green Rising stops. We will update when it is reopened

We have been made aware that the road from Hollymoor to Burnt Houses will be closed again tomorrow and Friday (21/22 November)

Unfortunately this means that buses 84, 84A and 85 will need to divert via Staindrop Road in Cockfield omitting the Club and Mount Pleasant stops in Cockfield and Burnt Houses.

Apologies for any inconvenience caused

UPDATE - works will not be going ahead on Saturday 23 and Sunday 24 November. Therefore the extra service 84 buses will not be operating and you can use service 1 as normal

Update - services back to normal. Thank you for your patience, our thoughts are with all involved

Due to an incident in Newgate Street Bishop Auckland our buses are having to use stops in Tenters Street. Anyone waiting at Asda for 101/108/109 please go over to the stop next to Halfords and we’ll get you from there.

Service 85 wil pick up on Tenters Street then next stop will be the Hospital

Service 9 will pick up on Saddler Street as usual then Hospital

We have had a phone handed in to our driver on the 84 Crook Town Bus. We think we know the owners name - if you want to claim it you will need to tell us what your name is and what sort of phone it is.

Office will be open at 9am tomorrow - it is at our Crook depot
