Update - services back to normal. Thank you for your patience, our thoughts are with all involved

Due to an incident in Newgate Street Bishop Auckland our buses are having to use stops in Tenters Street. Anyone waiting at Asda for 101/108/109 please go over to the stop next to Halfords and we’ll get you from there.

Service 85 wil pick up on Tenters Street then next stop will be the Hospital

Service 9 will pick up on Saddler Street as usual then Hospital

We have had a phone handed in to our driver on the 84 Crook Town Bus. We think we know the owners name - if you want to claim it you will need to tell us what your name is and what sort of phone it is.

Office will be open at 9am tomorrow - it is at our Crook depot

Please see below regarding disruption to our 84, 84A and 85 buses next week. The road will be closed for the duration of the works from Monday 11 November and reopen on the 14th

The road has now reopened and service 99 has returned to normal route. However the 1503 journey will still omit this section due to badly parked cars associated with school finishing time

We are still unable to serve Beech Avenue and Chestnut Avenue in Spennymoor due to roadworks. Your nearest stops are Middlestone Moor Club or the old Ken Warnes store. Apologies for any inconvenience

Two service updates (31/10/24)

SPENNYMOOR - Service 111 is back to normal route via Binchester Moor and Grayson Road; service 99 is operating via North Close, Central Drive but unable to serve Beech Avenue as the junction is closed at Whitworth Terrace

CROOK - due to badly parked cars, service 84 is omitting Buttermere in Watergate Estate. Please make your way to the main road to catch the bus.

We will update this post if either of these situations change

Not long now until our X6 and X6a route returns, linking Weardale with Newcastle and the Metrocentre, every Wednesday and Saturday. In Tow Law you can now board your bus anywhere between the Inkerman and Helme Park Garage. Rather pay with card? No problems as we take contactless payments on the X6! On a Saturday you can now return from the Metrocentre at 5pm. We are so excited to welcome you aboard - please spread the word!
