POLAND WIN WORLD FIREWORKS CHAMPIONSHIP BLACKPOOL

We are thrilled to announce that a pyrotechnics team from Poland have been crowned champions of Blackpool’s annual World Fireworks competition.

The display by the team from Nakaja Art set the bar high when they performed what they described as a “pyromusical” on the 7 September.

The judges, who scored them ahead of subsequent performances by Finland and the USA, described the display as “fabulous” and praised the synchronisation to the music and the use of Poland’s national colours.

A huge thank you to Nakaja Art, the team at Titanium Fireworks, our judges, and everyone who attended.

CHRISTMAS BY THE SEA ANNOUNCEMENT

Blackpool’s hugely popular Christmas By The Sea village is returning for 2024 – and it’s going to be bigger and better than ever!

The outdoor village will open on Friday 15 November, plus extended opening hours for the free skating rink which will open every day until January 5, 2025 (barring Christmas Day).

You’ll all be pleased to know that the Star Flyer will return, as well as the 100ft-long Snow Slide. Plus, there’s going to be even more rides this year so there is something for everyone, including waltzers and a brand new swing ride to name a few.

Tours will run from the start of September through to the end of December.

During October, Illuminations Tours will run daily.

During September, November and December, tours will be running Wednesday to Sunday.

Please note: Due to the World Fireworks Championship, no tours will take place on 7th September, 21st September and 5th October in 2024.

The Blackpool Tower has been nominated as a finalist in the Seaside Heritage Network's Bucket and Spade list for 2023 - and rightly so, as it has stood tall over the Fylde coast for over 125 years!

The Tower complex is a glittering example of how seaside heritage can adapt and change yet still retain its historic character to serve visitors today!

The list recognises the best-loved heritage sites and experiences in Britain’s seaside resorts and Blackpool Tower is among 30 on the shortlist.
