Hi all,
After 10 years,260,000 miles,many happy and a few sad times,stories,friendships and of course meeting my fiancée Caroline Veater I say goodbye to the silver fun bus. Mike and I bought it from new and it’s been a fantastic vehicle,I’m certain he would be happy with the new bus.
As of today,12th July 2024 the newer yet unnamed fun bus is ready to go. Huge thank you to Wayne Hopkins for his help doing all the technical bits and keeping me sane. I look forward to welcoming you on board. See you soon.

Caerphilly County Borough Council once again proving how incompetent they are. Roadworks cutting trees on the A467 between Crumlin and Newbridge bypass started around the 28th November 2023 supposedly taking 15 days(excluding weekends) which would mean they should be completed the week starting 18th December 2023. As we start February there’s no sign of completion and of course without any notification have started to cut the trees on the stretch between McDonald’s roundabout and Chapel of Ease causing major disruption for commuters once again.
Maybe the local authority should employ contractors using our money that can carry out the work efficiently and on time,making sure they do a decent days work for their fee…starting after 9-30am if you’re lucky and packed up and ready to go by 3oclock.
It’s cutting trees down,not reinventing the wheel.
I’m of course guessing,but the people who plan or don’t plan all this chaos don’t travel these routes or are ‘working from home’. Lucky them.

If you’re travelling to Bristol airport between January 22nd and February 2nd please give yourself extra time to get there. Major roadworks on the approach to airport entrance.

This is another rip off. If you drive through the city in an older vehicle,the ‘The Clean Air Zone’ which is as busy as ever will cost you £9 per day,with the extra £1 at the drop off zone,for a return trip this is an extra £30. Perhaps the £1 will pay to fix the broken entrance barrier at drop off point.
Don’t worry,we’re all in it together 🙈

This was at 12.46pm November 1st. If you know the road this is the lay-by approximately 2 miles away from airport. It took us 40 minutes from here,plus the queue behind us was very long. Remember this isn’t peak rush hour. Good luck!

BEWARE. If you’re travelling to Bristol Airport over the next 8 weeks give yourself an extra hour due to major roadworks 100 metres from entrance to airport. The approach and exit are a nightmare. Good luck.

Hey Caerphilly County Borough Council Can you explain why a job on the A467 between Abercarn and Cwmcarn has not been completed? The offending work…a manhole cover repair has caused huge transport issues today. This job was started over the weekend,repair now needs a small amount of tarmac to complete. To add to the ongoing tree felling further along the bypass,again not a workman doing anything at 9-45am,the traffic lights issue from Crumlin to Newbridge this morning it’s caused absolute chaos. Two journeys that normally take 90 mins have taken over 2.5 hours today. We transport vulnerable children to local schools and college,do you understand the impact not moving due to the utter incompetence of yourself,the contractors and operators who are employed to do these jobs cause. Before you say take an alternative route,please advise me as every route south has roadworks and I drive a minibus and don’t fly a helicopter.
Was this job an emergency repair and if so why isn’t it completed? Do you think you employ the correct people to complete jobs? Maybe one of the many managers employed by yourself should go along and check if works being completed,though I advise you give yourself plenty of time to get there.
I like many understand repairs and work have to be done,but when you go through the offending areas I expect to see people working not sat in vans,looking at their phones,starting late,finishing early and very little or anything done.
I could recommend contractors and operators who would complete the work a lot quicker and effectively than the current lot.
Please sort this mess out!!!

With Cardiff Airport now a plane spotting location rather a busy destination for taxi operators,Bristol Airport has taken over as the most popular and number one departure point for many seeking the sun. With the price of fuel rising and a five pound drop off and pick up fee at Bristol the local authority has announced a new clean air zone. I’m no expert for guessing this will push motorists onto B roads and lanes surrounding the city causing major congestion for motorists and residents. For a return trip to the airport this is an extra twenty eight pounds if I drive through the new clean air zone from the end of November.
It’s a pity we don’t have a busy and easily assessable airport on the doorstep in Wales 🙈

A memorial service to celebrate the life of Mike Robinson will be held at St Augustine’s church Pontllanfraith on Friday 5th August at 2-30pm followed by refreshments at The Rock Pub.

With great sadness I have to announce that Mike Robinson passed away on 29/06/2022.
After meeting Mike over a beer twelve years ago,the idea of Klasskabs Ltd was born. With his many years of business knowledge,three months of looking at everything needed to start a taxi firm,our adventure started in May 2010.
Mike had a brilliant business brain,without which I never would have got through the last twelve years. He was kind,inspiring and left no stone unturned. His kindness and trust in me I’ll never be able to repay. We had many laughs,a few rows but remained great friends. To everybody who’s called or messaged with their memory of Mike,how he helped them with advice,lifts or just being a friend thank you.
The funeral will take place tomorrow at 4pm 12/07/2022 in Scotland. If you would like to watch the service the link is posted below.
