Autumn is starting to creep in to our corner of Scotland 🍂 and so the arrival of this issue definitely adds to the feeling of the change in season. Beautiful photography and articles covering rural Perthshire, exploring lochs, museums and galleries in Edinburgh, beautiful North Berwick, and the rewilding of the supper club amongst many others. I might just grab myself a cuppa and spend my Sunday afternoon indulging in this beautiful edition. Available in our guest lounge for you to enjoy too.

I never knew that dandelions close at night and then open when it's daylight and sunny. Maybe I'm the only one who didn't know? Still, it's hard to mow the lawn when they're all out there enjoying the summer days.

There's a summer beach down by the V&A again.

Be sure to check out the doughnuts and coffee at , by the beach. They're doing beer and Prosecco too, but we can never get past the coffee and doughnuts. Well, the doughnuts mainly.

We're wishing our new friend Lynette all the best in her northbound cycle from Land's End to John O'Groats. Lynette stayed with us last night, along with her car-travelling support team, Grace and Ivana. 30 days and 400 miles in, she was looking good 🚴🔥

Many thanks to our guests Michaela and Alex for capturing photos of the house with their drone. Every time with spend time in the garden, we appreciate how special it is to be surrounded by so many enormous trees. It feels like a wonderland sometimes, particularly in the leafy months.

'Wonderful' is a really lovely review.

Heathpark House sure holds a sense of wonder, with its giant cupola, high ceilings and hand built timber staircase. We try to add a bit of wonder to the breakfasts too, starting with a little old-style music. So we like 'wonderful' and have been happy to share it with some of you.

We woke to a snowy scene on Thursday morning. (It would be idyllic but for the sound of our dog clearing her throat.)

We got our piano for free in local Rattray, and anyone who’s followed us on Instagram since the beginning will know we’ve been dreaming of a guest who can play it really well. In fact, two came along at once: James and Brian. This is James, who taught himself during lockdown. And he’s playing one of Meg’s favourite classical pieces, by Ludovico Einaudi. He played music from the soundtracks of Arrival and The Piano too, among others. Beautiful to hear it ringing round the house.

There have been a few unexplained happenings in the garden over the months we’ve been here. It was particularly exciting during the snow days when we woke up to find bird and red squirrel prints, and hoof prints too. Then, there’s been turf scratched up at the back of the lawn. Meg has a trail camera now. And at 3.50am today…
