We have some gorgeous new bud vases for our guest spaces here at Heathpark House from talented local potter she makes wonderful and colourful mugs, plates, butter dishes and vases amongst other things and has the most gorgeous stand at .co.uk at Scone Palace every year. Do check her out. Her wares are delightful 💖

We've left some apples on the fruit trees by the side of the house. They look like Christmas baubles, but edible baubles that the birds keep coming back to. Over the last couple of days, they've been a little frosty, but still sweet and tasty nonetheless.

A wonderful, cosy space filled with twinkly lights and a roaring fire, beautiful homewares for sale from mugs and bowls, to candles, books, sheepskins, the cosiest socks from beautifully packaged seeds to grow your own in the summer, festive flowers & plants, beers from wines, apple juice, chocolates, crackers, an array of pickles and flavoured cooking salts, treats for your dog, tree decorations and mistletoe, coffees & hot chocolate to drink in… just so many gorgeous things. And it was so lovely to meet Vics and Tessa running the shop today.. so if you are looking for a little nostalgic festive joy this December, head over to Guardswell Farm, and you’ll find it there 🥨

You could also book for an Afternoon Tea experience at the elegant Lands of Loyal Hotel in Alyth, or enjoy a gorgeous dinner at in Dunkeld. Take in the V&A Museum in Dundee, or a whiskey tour in one of the many distilleries around. Or simply enjoy the woodburner in our guest lounge with a glass of wine and a good book, a super comfy bed for the night and a delicious breakfast in the morning. Had a delightful visit, and first name basis introduction to all the fowl of Carsie Bridge Cottage today. Martin, who has lovingly created a wonderful haven for his birds, sells their surplus eggs at his roadside stall, just off Perth road. He gifted 4 very special Shetland Goose eggs to us here at Heathpark House to sample, and they are honestly, quite incredible. Big and weighty, the bright yellow yolk is enormous and one goose egg makes a fine omelette (you only need one as that equals about 3 hens eggs). The flavour is rich but delicate. And cracking open each egg felt really special. Each one felt like a treasure. His birds are free-ranging and his geese take day trips along the burn that passes his cottage and return at nightfall to roost. They have a great life! We’ll hopefully be using his eggs in our breakfasts a lot more when the laying season begins again in the spring, but do stop by his stand if you happen to be passing. His eggs are worth their weight in gold, and very reasonably priced too! 🤍

Thanks to Martin at Carsie cottage, chickens, Call ducks & geese for dropping round some eggs from his Shetland geese. Now, what to bake with such lovely, fresh ingredients? 🍰
