Today was a perfect day for a walk along the Seaton Cliff path. Just outside Arbroath, only 35 miles from The Old Coach House.

We love Blairgowrie as it is but also for where it is. There are so many interesting places within easy reach. Today we drove south into Fife for a walk up to the Bunnet Stane. We then headed east for lunch from the Wee Chippy in Anstruther, ate overlooking the harbour. Then back to the house, all in a leisurely 4 hours. And all while the current house guests were enjoying a day of skiing at Glenshee. All of this within an hour's drive.

Another early New Year Walk, this time to the Birks o' Aberfeldy, 30 miles from the Old Coach House. The walk itself is a short one at about 1.5 miles from the walk's car park but involves a bit of a climb and negotiating steps.

Happy New Year from Blairgowrie where, after enjoying the annual Ne'erday Walk/run along with the First Minister and many others, we await the all important first opening of the year of the . We might even be their first footers!

And so life goes on at The Old Coach House and the season cycle has spun quickly through Autumn. The leaves left on these trees will soon join the others on the ground. Much tidying to be done, then, though now, sadly, our work goes unsupervised. The garden is very empty without our old boy.
