Felt a bit Jeremy Clarkson today getting the call to rotovate ahead of the plough. Martin took over when he got home. Family team!

We went on one of these last year. It was a great ride but sadly we didn't see any dolphins. Looks like we should try again!

Clive has been commandeered to crew with Landlord Tim, along with Becky and Chris. I'll let you know the outcome!
We have an entry in the raft race in Losty tonight! Anyone wanting to see our illustrious landlord get his ankles wet please come along and support! We have a feisty crew and an awful lot of swagger so let’s hope they can all paddle harmoniously and do us proud 🛶🏴☠️

Those tiny ducklings have grown into nearly ducks! So tame and friendly. Sadly not all made it but Mummy duck has done a tremendous job through some foul weather. We have helped as much as we could.

Minions is a great day out on the moor. There is the cheesewring, a natural stone formation, and the hurlers ancient stone circle. The heritage centre is also really interesting so hope it reopens soon.
A project to explore the potential for Minions Heritage Centre to be reopened has been given the green light thanks to a grant from the Community Capacity Fund Cornwall.
Minions Heritage Centre was a free-to-enter visitor attraction located in the restored Houseman’s Engine House of the South Phoenix mine on the eastern edge of Bodmin Moor. It has been closed since the start of the pandemic.
The building is currently in the ownership of Cornwall Council and this project, which is being undertaken by Cornwall Heritage Trust in conjunction with the Council, aims to establish solutions to the issues with the building which could potentially result in its reopening.
This project is the first step towards hopefully reopening this invaluable visitor attraction so that it can once again provide interpretation and information to visitors to Bodmin Moor and the surrounding area. It is a fantastic resource for raising awareness of the historic landscape and the rich mining and industrial heritage it contains.
The project is located within the Tamar to Moor Community Area Partnership.
You probably saw this on national news. Clive saw it first hand! He was out on his bike and passing Harlyn Bay as it was happening. He couldn't get near enough to help though. But added interest to his day trip.
Rescue teams were sent to Harlyn Bay near Padstow at about 17:00 BST on Sunday.

Dad and Junior woodpecker breakfasting together! A few weeks ago Dad was pecking and feeding Junior. Now he does it for himself.

Mrs Duck is busy! She produced 10 ducklings a couple of days ago. We thought she was incubating imaginary eggs at the stables! She had them well hidden! All 10 under her protective wings.
If you'd like to see them we have 19th to 21st July available

Happy Father's Day! What our senior son sent his Dad. Is it love, or is he trying to finish him off?! (Clive still a big kid at heart, with an ability to eat an awful lot of wine gums in one sitting...)

Hello little frog..
It is wonderful seeing the wildlife thriving around the farm

It's official... When you stay at Chark Farm you get to try our prize winning eggs from our very own lovely hens 🏆.
It was our local village (Lanlivery) Feast week in May and we decided to enter our hens eggs, they were all judged by the super chef from our local pub The Crown Inn.

World class distillery producing gin and vodka from their home grown potatoes. Within walking/cycling distance from Chark Farm - that's handy! On site there is also a little farm shop selling all local produce.

Farmer Clive broke his plough so while it's being fixed he helped me clean the chicken house. The hens seem pleased, they are laying some beautiful eggs. Plenty for our guests. Just 1 school hols week left now and a short break in mid July - so book in quick if you'd like to come and see us this summer!

I finally got close enough! Those ducklings from 4th April are now young ducks! Not flown yet but it wont be long!
Well I never! Mrs Muscovy, the last of our free range domestic ducks disappeared last summer, we presumed dead, she was pretty old. This morning here she is large as life! Where on earth she has been for the last few months I cannot imagine!
Some visitors on the pond today. Not sure what Mrs Muscovy thinks of them... 🐥#canadageese #goslings #muscovyduck #sunnycornwall #stayonafarm
Wow! Carlyon Bay this afternoon. Photos can't do it justice. Like the Med. We swam in the warm water, beautiful. From Chark you can be on the beach in 20 minutes, and they only charged us £2 for all day. (Constantine was £5)
Acres of sand, food outlet and a bar, reasonable price if you want anything, not great for small kids as the beach shelves so the water is deep close to shore. But the tide doesn't go out very far. We'll be back soon, too hot to sit in the garden!
It must be Spring, yesterday swallows and today this!
Little guinea pigs are doing well. Lottie is a fabulous mum. They are eating me out of house and home! Video's come out a bit dark but you can just make them out. Babies have been named by Erin and Laura. They are Patch, Holly, Splodge and Splatt!
Goats and pigs very happy to go home early!
Oh No! Here we go again - hope today's guests make it to Chark ok.
