Saudi Arabia has mandated the meningitis vaccine for all visitors, requiring proof of vaccination for entry into the Kingdom.
The Saudi Civil Aviation Authority (SCAA) has underscored the necessity of adhering to these updated health measures. The key points include:
Airlines must verify that passengers traveling to Saudi Arabia are vaccinated against meningitis and other applicable diseases.
The meningitis vaccination certificate must be issued at least 10 days before the travel date.
Children under one year old are exempt from the meningitis vaccination requirement.
Travelers from Pakistan must present a valid polio vaccination certificate.
Passengers transiting through Afghanistan, Kenya, Congo, or Mozambique must also provide a polio vaccination certificate. However, those remaining in the transit area for under 12 hours are exempt from this rule.
