⛳ Drumadoon Point, Blackwaterfoot, Isle of Arran 🏌️

The site on which the fairways of Shiskine Golf Course sit, has a geological process known as isostatic uplift, to thank for its existence; the rebounding of the earth’s crust after the melting of heavy glacial ice formed during the last ice ages.

As sea levels rose rapidly with meltwater, they outpaced this rebound, causing coastal areas of Arran to become flooded, forming wave cut platforms and a more landward coastline.

The prominent Drumadoon Point on the left, an igneous sill composed of tough columnar jointed Quartz Feldspar Porphyry, would’ve stood isolated as an island at this time.

Eventually, as sea-level rise ceased, the rebound itself continued, even to this day, exhuming the land and pushing the coastline seaward once again.

The customer wanted to keep the old wooden corners . It’s not a request we usually get but we were more than happy to oblige .
What do you think ?

I like them like that but it raises the question ,do you gloss them like the skirtings or paint them like the walls ?
