Being a volunteer in the Braemar Mountain Rescue Team has been a goal of mine for many years. Earlier this year I was grateful to be accepted as a trainee member and last week was coached up the corrie of Lochnagar by my awesome mentor Nick, Simon, Callum and Matt on my second full training day. Looking forward to learning from these incredibly experienced team members over the coming year and eventually become a full member volunteer to go out on rescues.

At the Start of March I was privileged to take out this group of amazing ladies for a river Dee dip as part of the so lovely to have a group social swim like this, with a mix of locals and familiar faces and new swim friends. Thank you for the amazing pictures!

Big news for Wild Braemar!

Meet Hugo, one of my closest friends for the last 10 years, a perthshire lad who loves the cairngorms as much as I do. He is a highly experienced mountain guide and all round adventurer with experience paragliding, kayaking, surfing and more.

Hugo is joining the Wild Braemar journey and helping me with guided hikes and experiences this summer. If you book with me this year you may have the joy of this lovely human guiding you on your Scottish adventure.

I find Scotland goes through distinctive colour seasons through the year, just now we are in the yellow and green season, the larch needles have appeared, fluorescent green and fuzzy, along with fresh broadleaves, birch, Rowan and Aspen. The broom and gorse bring the yellow in, creating a bright citrusy landscape. Next up will be the pink and white phase as the summer flowers come in.
