Big news for Wild Braemar!

Meet Hugo, one of my closest friends for the last 10 years, a perthshire lad who loves the cairngorms as much as I do. He is a highly experienced mountain guide and all round adventurer with experience paragliding, kayaking, surfing and more.

Hugo is joining the Wild Braemar journey and helping me with guided hikes and experiences this summer. If you book with me this year you may have the joy of this lovely human guiding you on your Scottish adventure.

I find Scotland goes through distinctive colour seasons through the year, just now we are in the yellow and green season, the larch needles have appeared, fluorescent green and fuzzy, along with fresh broadleaves, birch, Rowan and Aspen. The broom and gorse bring the yellow in, creating a bright citrusy landscape. Next up will be the pink and white phase as the summer flowers come in.

Cold water plunges are an amazing way to fully connect with your surroundings and reset your brain, particularly if your used to a busy urban life. I always say immersing in cold pure Scottish water is like switching a computer off and on again.
Come swimming or dipping with me all year round, Whatever your experience, if you a beginner I will introduce you to this amazing experience.

NEW EVENTS ADDED!!!
The Braemar Nature Festival 10-19 May programme has landed!

Through a fantastic collaborative effort we have been able to pull together over 20 events over the week covering everything from health and nature walks to film nights, bat and moth safari’s to a Wood Ant walk. Several of our local estates are offering exciting events to learn more about the work they are undertaking, show you some of their wildlife and have the opportunity to assist with some conservation volunteering. Discover more about Braemars past with a fascinating glaciology walk, learn how to use camera traps to their full extent and become a mountain hare surveyor; these are just a few of the events we have planned.
