..so this is a judgement free space, right?!

Way back in April through to June time, we took part in the Great British Yarn Crawl. It was fab, people visited from all over the UK, you all collected your stamps, and we had a prize draw. Leave us your details, we'll add you to our fab mailing list, and we'll pick a winner at random.

I mean, we *have* picked the winner. The fact it's 5 months later doesn't reeeeeeeeally matter, right?!

It's not like we added you to the mailing list and forgot to give out the prize, we didn't even do that bit 🙈🤣🤣

I HAD to share this picture that was posted in our Facebook group today because eeeeeeeeek!! How beautiful are these?!

Pauline has combined 2 different patterns (a Drops pattern called Forest Spell) and the Noëlle sock pattern by for the bottom half (which you can get from us as a free download or a free printed copy when you buy the yarn!!)

She has used Signature 4ply in Milk Bottle and Evergreen as the solids and the fab new Christmas shade Yuletide for the bottom.

Isn't it LUSH?!!

I finished a thing!! (Well, actually, I finished 4 things 😳🤣 the others are just blocking...we might need to stage an intervention because we all know this isn't acceptable for me to be finishing things!)

This is actually a 're-make' because I made this rather fetching Nara hat (designed by our favourite 😍) in Retreat Super Chunky last year. But I didn't *cough* do any kind of *cough* tension square. And it came out suitably sized for a giant 🤣

So I frogged it all back and finally sat down and remade it last week. And I do rather love it!

The pattern is free when you buy the yarn - just one ball is needed, and we've just taken delivery of some rather lovely Trimits Pompoms which would go nicely on top...

Squishy alert!!

Yes, Super Super is back in the shop, baby! It's been a while (as in years!!) but I couldn't resist these lush neon shades 😍 And of course then it was only right to add the black and cream back in for a bit of a pop...

This is a 50/50 Wool/Acrylic blend yarn, and it's single ply roving which means SUPER SQUISHY! And beautiful stitch definition too 😍

I'm thinking hats and cowls, but of course super chunky jumpers are a bit lush...

I finished it!!!!

Yes, my Lina Tunic (slipover?) is done, and I've already taken more Cloud Tweed home to make a jumper 🙈🤣🤣

It is the MOST LUSH yarn to work with. I can also attest to the fact it frogs wonderfully too 🤣🤣

If you've not used it before, it is a blend of wool, nylon and alpaca, and is literally a cloud. It's like knitting with candyfloss, only much less sticky (and less edible). It's just beautiful.

I'll tag the yarn and the Puntos in the picture - the Puntos are packed full of lush patterns for the yarn, and they're also all available individually on Ravelry.

How lush are the 6 new shades of Adriafil Mistero?!

I've just finished a headband in this yarn (yes, that's right, I *finished* a thing) and it is super squishy! It's a standard chunky and is a wool/acrylic blend, so perfect for keeping you warm 😍

Yesssssss, it's that time of year again!! 🧶🧶🧶

Our now infamous Stylecraft Shopping Evening, complete with legendary modelling skills for our Autumn/Winter Catwalk, is taking place on 29th November!

As usual, booking is an absolute must - tickets are £5 and include a glass of prosecco on arrival, and a goody bag to take home 🍾🥂🍾🥂🍾🥂

Pre-show dinner will be available from 5pm, again, booking is essential. The link to book food will be on the yarn shop page when you book your tickets for the show (the food requires a £5 deductable deposit when booking!) - it's all in the product description!

Eeeeeeek!! How lush does this look?!! The Adriafil delivery has arrived and is on the shelves, including some gorgeous new shades 😍

And on that note, we *are* having regular deliveries, and yes the shelves are looking a *little* sparse in places, but that's because we've been so flipping busy (yay!) and I've not had a chance to order, or to put out half the stuff that's sitting in the warehouse 🙈🤣

And we are absolutely, categorically and certainly NOT CLOSING! We are, as many of you already know (either from the Tea Rooms post a few weeks ago, or from me telling you in the shop) moving shortly. But we're just moving, definitely not closing, and we will continue to be the amazeballs yarn shop we have been for the last 12 years (and long before we came to Blake House!) so you don't need to be panic buying (although we will obviously be happy to help build your yarn stash) 🥰

I can't tell you where yet (until it's all signed and sealed) but it's not far, so you don't need to fret!!

So please, if you hear people tell you we are shutting, tell them we're not. Mr Sconch and I have decided to sell the tea rooms, and give our girls some much needed extra family time, and after a few health scares this year for me, we've decided to relocate and concentrate on building our Yarny Empire.

BUT, I can show you these rather sexy greens, blues and mustards in the Signature 4ply, as I did manage to get all the WYS out on the shelf today after a rather big top-up delivery on Monday...

Sometimes a picture can speak a thousand words. But sometimes it does NOTHING to show you what you need to see. Like just how amazingly floofy and squishy this new yarn from is!!

Angela has been busy making this top-down jumper in Painted Power, and it's sooooo soft! We've all been oohing and aahing over the neck though. Such a clever design - knitted twice as long, then folded over and then knit through both sets of stitches to catch it in, for a no-sewing, no stitch-picking-up squishy neckline! Genius I tell you! 😍

Good morning lovely people in my phone! Hope you all had a lovely weekend. Apologies for abandoning you yesterday and being neither online nor having the shop open. It was a big night on Saturday for both me and Mr Sconch, as we were celebrating our 40th birthdays, and so I'm sure you'll understand that getting up to open the shop on Sunday was a no-go 🙈🤣🤣

I am still feeling pretty rough, but that's perhaps more the lurgy I seem to have caught, rather than the up-until-4:30am-partying on Saturday. Although I'm sure that hasn't helped...

I've got a day of knitting (and a fair amount of cleaning of the house) ahead of me. I'm hoping to finish my Lina tunic and finish the bottom of my Love Note, so that I can move onto the sleeves 😍

Then back to it properly tomorrow. Lots of new yarns arriving this week that needs loading on to the website yippeeeeeeee!! So keep those peepers peeled! 👀

It's Halloween Weekend at Blake House Craft Centre this weekend, so expect to see the staff dressed up to scare!

Just to let you all know we are open today as usual (9:30-4pm) but we are CLOSED tomorrow (Sunday 27th).

Myself and Mr Sconch both turn 40 this year and so tomorrow we are taking a day of rest* so you need to come and get all your yarn today (or wait until Tuesday!!)

We've had a full top up of Rico PomPom and Ricorumi for all of you who were waiting for that to come in by the way 😍

*which may or may not involve sore feet from dancing the night away and a headache from prosecco tonight...!!

I finished a thing!! 😍😍

This is the Traveler Cowl by and I LOVE it!

I used Wool Sisters and it's the perfect level of squish. I've banged on about this yarn a few times now, but it's an absolute GENIUS idea. Every shade has another 2 shades that coordinate perfectly with it, and they're written on the ball tags so you can easily find your sister shades.

Now I suppose* I should go and finish a few other things in the samples bag(s) I have...

*definitely not eyeing up a new project...

Eeeeeeeek!! Brand New Yarn Alert!! 🥰 And it's a good one! Rico Design Fashion Cotton Merino Lace - which despite the title, is not lace weight 🙈🤣 it's sport weight ish - closer to 4ply than DK. Knit on 3mm needles, getting 24 stitches on a 10cm swatch.
