We're punch drunk happy to hear that our founder and Chair, Russell Fraser, was awarded the 2024 Scottish Tourism Individual of the Year at the last night. ๐Ÿคฉ

SCOTO HQ is also thrilled that the ๐Ÿ‘‘ remains within the SCOTO family, as Director Melanie Allen took home the title last year.

Russell is passionate and dedicated to growing and promoting community tourism. This enthusiasm inspired the creation of SCOTO and drove his impactful work with community-owned Loch Ness Hub & Travel. Seeing his efforts acknowledged by Scotland's top tourism awards is fantastic!

Congratulations, Russell.

Blessed with more than one birthday cake and lots of lovely flowers, I decided to share some! ๐ŸŽ‚๐Ÿ’
After a family weekend at the fabulous The Rings I popped into the run The Village Cafe, Ceres

On a Monday they have a Good Companions lunch, hopefully the cake added a little to the fabulous home baking on offer.
Calder, one of the cafe volunteers, is in the pic with me. There are also 3 paid members of staff. The cafe is a wonderful place and Options in life run the cafe on specific days.

๐ŸคI had a good chat with Karen, one of the cafe directors, all about SCOTO and BeLocalScotland

๐Ÿšฒ๐ŸฅพThe village is also looking at ways to transform its church, perhaps into a hostel. The church is one of between 400 and 700 being disposed by the Church Of Scotland and the congregation would like to support a future for Ceres Church. There are lots of walkers and cyclists in the area as well as the village being part of the Fife Pilgrim way ๐Ÿฅพ๐Ÿšฒ
