One of the great walk options from the door, Castell Dinas is the oldest Iron Age fortification and highest sited castle (or remains of!) found in Wales. It’s a lovely loop from the Barn which is easy to extend up into the hills or down to the nearby pub - Dinas Castle Inn for a drink.

A different day, a different view! I always think Mynydd Troedd looks so impressive from the Talgarth side. This photo is taken close to the River Wye at Erwood :-)

We may have a new, favourite cafe! Triggs Mill is amazing! Locally sourced ingredients, beautiful spot by the river (check out the secret garden behind - it’s lovely!) and of course, delicious food :-)

On days like today, you can see why Wales is so green and lush…! Still, there is plenty of puddle splashing, mud stomping and fungi finding fun to be had in Autumn and after a good soaking, it really does feel good to be wrapped up, cosy and warm in front of the fire, looking out at the mountains :-)
