Such a great time of year - bluebells, gorgeous mountain foals, a hare… I even saw a beautiful little deer in the field next to the Barn. It skipped off pretty quickly though so I didn’t manage to get any decent photos!

We hope you had a wonderful Christmas Day and are enjoying some Boxing Day fun!
One photo is from our traditional Christmas Day stomp, quite muddy this year but great to get some fresh air and to spend time with our family around and about, as well as in the Barn 🙂
The second photo doesn’t really need an explanation (!) but the meat was incredible from The Deli Pot & W J George Talgarth - our local butchers in Talgarth, as well as some lovely homegrown veg - thanks mum and dad!

Last week, my mum and I attended a fantastic Layered Landscape workshop at Textiles At The Weir . Tucked away near Skirrid, we were warmly welcomed to the studio by the lovely Jan who took us through the process of creating our own Layered Landscape. We both chose to attempt Mynydd Troed - one of the local hills to Pentwyn Barn which is very special to our family. We had a great day trying something a bit different and I can thoroughly recommend both a workshop with Jan and a lung busting ascent of the Mynydd during a stay in the barn!

The meadows at Llangasty Talyllyn are full of orchids and other beautiful wild flowers at the moment. I can thoroughly recommend a walk around the fields and lake there :-)

One of the many beautiful walks from the Barn is to Pwll-y-Wrach or the Witches Pool, a nearby nature reserve with an optional dip for wild swimmers. From here you can drop into Talgarth for a refuel or come back via the Gliding Club to see some exciting take offs and landings :-)

How about some guided local walks? Talgarth Walking Festival is on 29th April - 2nd May with some lovely events lined up. The Barn also currently has availability for the bank holiday too :-)

Here’s something a bit different for you to do during your stay at Ty Prosser... A wonderful fell running and yoga weekend organised by Element (something I was helping out with at the weekend, and what a stonking weekend it was!!)
