Beautiful frosty riverside walk at today.

✅ Add this to your “walks to do” list as it’s 15 minutes from Barmouth and it is great for those who want to walk but not too much.

It’s a hidden gem in southern Snowdonia and perfect for a leisurely stroll to appreciate nature. There’s a riverside walk which takes you to the foot of one of the falls and if that whets your appetite you can venture further up along trails to enjoy more waterfalls. You also get the panoramic sea views and snowdonia mountain vistas. The area is open all-year around and with rivers, waterfalls, woodland, children’s trails and the car park at £3 for the day - what’s not to love. Dress wisely though as it was fresh but glorious sunshine at this time of year!

I love this spot and thought I’d share one of my favourite views of Harlech beach to celebrate World Wildlife Conservation Day.

As Hilary Clinton so eloquently put it “Wildlife cannot be manufactured and once it’s gone, it cannot be replenished”.

So it’s simple steps we can take - let’s keep visiting nature reserves like this in the area, so we can support the work that is done to raise awareness about protecting the natural world and endangered species.

Let’s keep clearing up our rubbish and encouraging others to do the same so we reduce the damaging impact to our wildlife. Imagine our friends and children not being able to see the porpoises that frequently grace this beautiful Welsh coastline?
