We look back on the last 12 months with pride at how far we've come (with what feels like every hurdle being a big one!) and what plans we have for 2025, starting with exciting changes for Rowan in January and continuing to make progress with the farm house. We have been incredibly busy over the last 12 months and are so grateful for everyone that clicks that 'book now' button. Thank you so much!

As 2024 comes to an end we'd like to thank all of our staff, customers and suppliers for their help this year, it's been a busy year settling ourselves into Vale Farm, so we hope 2025 will be slightly easier for us.

We are hoping to push forward in 2025, with expansion planned in all areas of our business, so please feel free to get in touch if we can help you with contracting work, renting land, share farming or hay and straw sales.

The calendar is open for summer holidays in 2025. Last year we were fully booked for the whole summer.

Our cottages sleep between 2-10 guests and we have a maximum capacity of 42 guests over the 7 cottages, plus dogs are welcome free of charge.

Bookings for groups are more than welcome too, we are the perfect place for groups of families or friends.

We took advantage of the beauty that was the blue sky today! Stunning weather!!
We wanted to do the walk around Llangorse Lake but sadly it was flooded so we had a little wander and decided to head to Blaen y Glyn waterfalls. It was perfect! Very child friendly walk, our nearly 3 year old managed all of it, with beautiful scenery and waterfalls. A must if you'd like to see waterfalls but the Four Waterfalls trail is too much, about 45 minutes from the cottages.

Some have come over from Europe to stay with family at the end of the road, one family came here at Easter and wanted to return (thank you so much!) and others are from the South Coast.

We are so pleased they chose to stay in our little piece of Wales for their Christmas πŸŽ„πŸŽ

The calendar is open for Christmas 2025 and currently all 7 cottages are available.

We have just received this little book- we wanted to try and tick off as many trig points as we can across the Brecon area- inspired by our good friend Anwen! There's 109 tig points! Even our little trig point is featured in the book!

Our little trig point is actually 371m above sea level! No wonder it gets a bit windy!

The hot tub is ready and waiting for this weekend's guests in Rowan. We are very pleased to welcome this family back to Vale Farm this year, thank you πŸ™πŸ»πŸ˜€

A little update on the farmhouse and a small set back. Fingers crossed some luck comes our way soon. We are still aiming to be open for March 2025. Luckily it was just this room affected by the water. If you don't laugh you'd cry.

We've had a fab half term week with so many guests coming to stay at Vale Farm, some for the first time, some for the second or third! We are so lucky that people want to come back to stay time and time again. The weather has also been very kind, for a change (!), and the kids have enjoyed being outside enjoying all that nature has to offer in the autumn. And yes that's my middle daughter still in shorts in November πŸ˜†

How cool is this? Tom managed to get this very cool time lapse today. What a sunny Saturday 🌞

A little walk through of the farm house and a little update. We are getting there!! Very slowly but we are making steady progress. The plasterer finished the plastering upstairs and the two reception rooms downstairs this week. He's coming back at some point to do the hallway and up the stairs. But at least we can get on with painting the bedrooms, kitchen and living spaces once it is dry. Next on the list is to finish the electrics and misting system.

Wow what a difference a floor makes! I was a bit nervous that the floor might be a bit dark but it is such a big space that it takes it. A stunning roll top bath with Victorian style taps, with a view to top all views, is enough to make anyone want to have a soak in the bath. Teamed with a double shower, matching sink and toilet it is the perfect bathroom to escape and unwind. I've got bathroom envy πŸ›€πŸ» #breconbeacons #farmhouserenovation #selfcateringaccommodation #comingsoon

🏠 Farmhouse Update 🏠 Very excited that FINALLY we are in a position to paint 3 of the 4 bedrooms and the main bathroom πŸ₯³πŸ₯³ and as you might notice there's lovely doors from @howdensjoinery installed by @dp_carpentry_and_construction The decorator is starting tomorrow and the misting system's second fix is happening next week. Once the bathroom is done, Rich can come and fit the bathroom floor and Neil can come back to install the bath, toilet and sink. There is a bit more plastering to do in the 4th bedroom before that can be painted. The smaller bathroom will be painted once all the work in the loft is done, then the hall way upstairs can be painted too. It's been a long slog and there's so much still to do but we are getting there very slowly. Thank you to Tom who is working tirelessly to get the house sorted and to all the tradespeople that are making it all come together too. #leylandarcticcotton #houserenovation
